Soft's Drummer / Drum Exchange- SLOGAN and IDENTITY needed

constantly in motion....
alot of meaning...
but pertaining to drummings, simply stating that, we drummers are constantly in motion... DUH!
watever we do, we are constantly moving our limbs to keep the band in time, to keep the beat, to keep the music....
while the rest are quiet, we will sometime still be playing, thus making our solo.....
be it playing soft or loud, fast or slow, we weill still be moving ourselves...
during gigs, we are most of the time, be the one that moves around the drumset, changing pedals, cymbals, changing the settings, while the rest just put their effects pedals, cables, plug in and strum....
last of all, we, the drummers are constantly in motion when we are at our meetup, every month we constantly have meetups, unlike other instruments here.... and every meetup, we confirm move (motion) and play the drums to show others the groove....
how's that for explaination?

the ideas thrown up are really great so far :lol:
i see a connection in RD's angle.. to share with you guys,
basically RD started soft drummer gatherings calling it "meetups"
together with ahpek, blissy bro and a number of other guys, we had been organising events calling it Drum Exchange since 2001.
the rationale for calling it exchange is because, we wanted it to be a free-flow, non-monetary exchange of ideas, knowledge and drum gears.
there would be peer-to-peer exchange (think bittorrent) and also vertical exchange (teacher-to-student and vice versa)
we strictly make it non-monetary so guys can't infiltrate in with the motive of earning money.
but!
we do not discourage students looking for teachers and vice-versa.
nor do we discourage drum manufacturers from selling, advertising wares.
we let them have freedom to advertise, as do we have freedom to buy/not to buy
we just wanted to make it as neutral, and to gather as many open-minded drummers as possible.
hence, the exchanges are billed not just hangout and enjoy brotherly drumhood, but also viable way to:
for drum teachers to
- network
- make themselves known and introduce themselves to sg drum fraternity
for students to
- get some free tips and lessons once a month
- audition/look for a teacher informally
- make friends or practice/drum khakis
that said, i also like jiv's slogan 'inspired to drum, drumming to inspire' very much... its very yin-yang....
i've taken liberty of some wacko put-together... check it out and let me know what you think guys (pardon the black panther snare, i can't draw to save ma life!!! need a snare drum illustration if this idea is go ahead later)

Create & Design another Seperate / Meaningful Logo just for the sake of "DRUM EXCHANGE" - but if we do this......then We only use the Words "Soft Drummers" with no Soft Logo, and ( The Drum Exchange NEW Logo ) will be Soft's Drum Exchange - NEW Identity & Logo? - What do you think...just open up for discussion so we can come up with best option...It's OURS mah..correct...

yes RD Bro.... back then we never managed to successfully grow until 20plus crowd size.... like all groups must have went thru, there were the occassional bickering and on-line/off-line flame wars.... plus there was always the challenge to getting guys to be open-minded (or stay open-minded) and really share stuff.
its great that things are moving forward finally... i hope we can keep growing this thing man.

well it could have been
- drums exchange (sounds like 2 people exchanging their snare)
- drumming exchange ( they exchange when they drumming half way)
- drummer exchange (ermm... 2 bands swap their drummer?)
- drummers exchange (a lot of drummers gathered to exchange.. but very literal ...lol)
- drummed exchange (living in the past ... )
