EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool's Harry Kewell will put his club worries behind him to jet in early for Socceroos training on Monday in a bid to win a new contract.
au.fourfourtwo.com can reveal the 29-year-old talisman will depart England on Sunday after Liverpool's home game against Reading the previous day.
He's expected to link up with a Socceroo squad dominated by Olyroos. This will give the winger a valuable ten days with Pim Verbeek and the squad ahead of the March 26 World Cup qualifier in China's high altitude Kunming.
Kewell is set to play with the junior 'Roos in the March 22 friendly against
Singapore to provide valuable match practice for the Sydneysider who has had limited game time for Liverpool in 2008.
Kewell, who's contract runs out this summer, recently told LFC Magazine: "I can't even think about a new contract. That is what people have been talking about and saying about me, but I will tell the truth so the fans know the truth.
"And that is why I haven't honestly thought about it. I can't think about it at the moment.
"With my injury history and my record over the last two seasons, games and goals-wise, I can look no further than the next match.
"That is all I am prepared to do. Take one training session at a time and do my best and give my all every time."
"Given my Liverpool career, and the way it has gone, all I want to do is take the chance that the manager is giving me.
"I want to repay him for that, and the boys who have helped me through, for sticking with me and not giving up."
