SKB cases

hi guys,

i was wondering... Are SKB cases as gd as the reviews online say...? heard they make bullet proof stuff... so my guess is its darn gd... i remember using them in the army to carry ammo/tank suspensions and other very very classified stuff.... we threw the cases around and DARN didn't it break... even after a rover ran over it

any brands out there worth mentioning or are SKB really the best...

Secondly, is swee lee the only place we can find them??? anywhere else? and how much does the les paul style case cost?

Sweelee is the only place. I suggest you call them, or check their online store.

Should be around 200-220 for a LP case, I suggest to get it during sale if its not urgent.

I have 4 SKB cases myself, they are light, durable, balances easily when carrying.

I can attest to the range rover thing.
I drove my 4x4 over my SKB bass case before, its the freedom series as well.

Still okay.

The other 3 are SKB-66, strat/tele style cases. Material is the same.

For protecting your guitar, I personally feel that nothing does the job better. Its probably safer in the case than in your hands.

The only drawback, is that the innards smell like crap. Its best to air the thing out for 2-3 weeks to get the stink out. Guitars that are kept inside it, when u take it to play, the smell stays on your hands and fingers.

I got used to it so its okay.

the answer to all your questions is: yes.


ive seen airline baggage handlers fling my hardcase from the conveyor belt into the cargo truck. when i got my guitar back after that, it wasn't even out of tune.

OMG...... even the guitar cases dun break under the rover.... POWER la.... i'm so gonna get the case once my LP touches down in Singapore...

how bout the their soft case variation.... i kinda like the idea of carrying the guitar on my back cuz it frees my hands to do everything else... are they gd too???, can throw around and still be in tune?
