doesnt everyone think tat malays are:
lazy... drug addicts.. live in rehabs.. poor.. useless.. stupid..
so what can u say now stereotypers..
he won coz he deserve it... and happen to be a malay..
and malay have been winning..
so what can malay haters say now? "ban malay from idol???"...
what a joke to end 2009...
and who said that he have no talent? just becoz his a malay?
for godsake...
Dude, as a Malay person(although not fully Malay) myself, why get so angry over such a stupid thing? Is winning Singapore Idol going to take away the fact that we are poor and have quite a number of social problems? Will it take away the fact that your country was taken over, your culture, your religion is slowly dying? No, so stop caring over something as stupid as Singapore Idol.
i agree wif ya and was just feeling very disappointed wif fellow sporeans...
dun u feel insulted? its not abt the singpore idol but abt this racial issue..
Personally I couldn't care less. And Ken Lim has always been biased, so it's not very different. If you realise Ken Lim always gives negative comments to Malay contestants be it dress sense, dancing or actual singing. I believe it was either him or Dick Lee that commented on one of the Malay girls that she looked like a tomato one night. I mean really, the judges are trying to make the Malay contestants look bad so that they will not get as many votes from non-Malays. Taufik got really bad comments in the first season, especially from Ken Lim. On the night he performed what was said to be the best performance so far on SG Idol.
I think the Malay or not, or male/female idol is irrelevant.
The votes are audited by KPMG, .....
Please lah, we are 99% musicians here, I am sure we can look at the music capabilities rather than non-issues like race, gender ...
KPMG = Kasi Pada Malay Group?
Dont take this the wrong way but I just had to.... LOLz!
I can bet my money's worth that a lot of people who are complaining about Sylvia not winning the title probably sat at home and did nothing during the show. Not a single vote from them.
I can't ! I don't even understand what it stands for.
I'm really the worst person to comment on these things because I hate mainstream pop music and this whole culture of singing and dancing. Singapore Idol is a joke, and will remain to be a joke, just like local music.

The only way to save the Idol show is to get rid of all 3 judges, and replace them with people who have no stake in who the winner is. Meaning whether or not anyone wins, the judges will not benefit in any way.

Congrats to Sezairi for winning, even whether he was or not the best one there, he had the most votes, and that's how the winner is chosen, so ... He won! Fair and square! I don't know if he was really the most talented(since I watch like 5 mins of Idol every week) but if he wasn't, it sure helped that Malay people tend to be a big majority when it comes to these type of talent based shows. Just see anugerah. It's crazy how many people will pack themselves into a stupid shopping centre just to hear a few people(who are just becoming popular) sing.
