eh small pickguards are the best, cos that what they originally came with
imagine if LP's now had full face pickguards...umm ok maybe not.
plus small pickguards, you get more wood

and, walnut / heritage cherry...
some old cherry SGs do actually fade to an almost walnut color.

i prefer small pickguards! i have sweaty hands and the nails that come with the big pickguards will start to rust brrrrr

Lol. What about colour. Which do you guys prefer. I like the Walnut ones. as in the matte ones. but I can't decide between that and the classic red for mine. haha.

i've always wanted one in trans black...the 1st issue SG classic had that color...
now the only choice lies with the SG Supreme...wont be getting that for another few months

released with 3 bridge options, stop tail / steinberger / floyd rose.
was originally alpine white, which had turned a real ugly yellow so i had it refinished.
this is what it looked like before...

thats just a pickguard template i was contemplating to do so as to cover the neck pickup cavity, but decided not to.
also had the tone control hole filled in, so just a sole vol control, had to cos i wanted to use EMGs and there was no space for the 9V battery

yea, thats actually from gibson's 'guitar of the week' series, limited run of 400 units each.
released in week 21, so end of may, obviously no one is buying them

what im waiting for to arrive, which i guess will never ever...is the one from week 38.

thats cos the orville by gibson's have nickel hardware, even the pickup covers are nickel.
just like the actual gibson '61 reissue.
i actually like the look of nickel when its worn.

its a 'orville by gibson' SG '62 reissue.
pickups are Gibson 'The Original', bill lawrence designed...factory pickups back then in '88.
even actual Gibson LPs and SGs came with those pickups then.
