Seekzstompers Punch Tone dist pedal (S`pore version of MI Audio Crunchbox?)

Hi folks

Really loving this locally made dist pedal. In fact, I tried both the PunchTone n the Crunchbox and I couldn't tell the difference between the 2, but both sounded awesome to my ears. But I walked away with the PunchTone since it was like a few dollars less than the other :P

U can easily get natural tube overdrive from 9 o clock n be in vintage Marshall crunch from 12 o clock onwards. This is indeed a high gain dist pedal, n I found myself tweaking my Strat`s volume knob for a variety of tones :)

I duno if this was intended to replicate the Crunchbox but Seekz did a great job on this one.

I`ve been using the local Awe-In-One picks n now I`m using the local Seekzstompers PunchTone dist pedal..woo hoo :)

Thumbs up for local gear :)

I've been using Goose's pedals for quite some times now... they don't particularly sound like a clone of anything... improvements and differences abound.

Yes, local products can rock.

Thank you for your kind words Faizal.

It wasn't intended to replicate the CBX.
It was however intended to compete with it.
i.e. The pricing and the "class" of the pedal. (marshall style dist)

The sad thing is the lack of time on my part that production is slowing to almost a halt
Recently kena called back for reservist, somemore have to prepare for my coming exams
So I'll only make like 1 or 2 more for now until May.

zuilio: Available at Blackwoods and Ebenex

I love this pedal..
Back when it was still the unpainted version, I kept trying it at Ebenex..
Smooth sound, that beats the crunchbox imo hands down..
I donch likes the crunchboxx!
Well, I'm still tempted to get it again, after trying it (yet again!) 2-3 days ago!

Sounds shiok! Lol..
Sounds sweet on humbuckers too!
Fatter, but not as crisp, but just as transparent..
Your's has been modded is it?

I had the good fortune of trying out the punch tone and also some other pedals of seekz when they were all in their proto type stages. They left very very good impressions.

Seekz definitely has a good ear and his pedals do sound very good and dynamic. I just couldn't stop playing AC/DC and Led Zep type riffs when playing with the punch tone. Definitely one to check out.

I find crunchbox overrated.. Maybe cause I tried a CB only after trying out a PT for 4 times..
Well, the PT great for Classic Rock leads, but an MIJ DS-1 is more suited for Classic Rock rhythm.. The PT is too smooth for that..
Want something to do both? The HBE Big D and Radial Tonebone Hot British Distortion will deliver too..

If the PT is too smooth, maybe u can cut back on the tone knob? See if tat helps. I notice that the tone knob makes a very drastic change in tone, even with the slightest twist on the knob :)

Yeah.. Btw bro.. Your soundclip is only for single-coil equipped guitars man..
Haha.. It sounds good on humbuckers too!
Fat fat fat!

Not really "moving". I'm making very limited numbers.
Its not something to dive into, if you get what i mean.

But so far feedback has been good, so I'll definitely make
some more after May.

By the way, regarding the Local scene not moving.
I've got an off topic suggestion.

Rather than the local media, i.e. radio station, force-
feeding us song from abroad that doesn't really relate.

We can do our part and request for local music during
request shows and shove it up back to them.

Maybe can start a new thread and have the activity organised
for better efficiency

Local music scene is not moving.
but local pedal is moving..
hahahaha

i agree with seekz you r rite.we should do our part and not always request for other songs. request for like b-quartet and some other bands wo already release their albums. hey will pass u my wah to mod hahaha soon soon this sunday if i can rem to pass it to man haha want to check out your punchtone man since soon many ppl recommend.

how abt making a whole pedalboard full of your effects just for me.

endorsed by seekz hahaha that will be cool

Lol.. I have plans for the future for a "local" pedalbaord!

Goosonique Citrus Compressor
Om Laboratories Sahasrara
Seekzstompers Punch Tone
Goosonique Pixie Fuzz
Goosonique Boosty

All powered by an Om Labs power supply, patched with cables from TY and RDM..
Now that's local! Just a dream but hell, make it come true one by one then!

About the local scene thing, how I wish that there's a radiostation just for local music!
