Sales Person at Swee Lee Sims Drive tried to Punch Me

Dear all,

I am new to these forums but I just came back from the Swee Lee store at Sims Drive and a thin Chinese sales person there hurled vulgarities at me and tried to punch me after I asked him why he does not know his products well. He had to be restrained by the other staff at the store.

All I wanted was a demonstration on how the Robot function on the Gibson Les Paul Robot works and he was unable to do so and kept telling me to read the manual myself when I get home!

I know from many of your posts in these forums that Swee Lee has questionable customer service but this is too much!

sometimes it is better to not say anything at all. talk to other more experienced staffs perhaps. instead of saying it to his face you could have asked for other staffs to help you. and none of this would have happened. they may be more experienced in other gears or brands.
 
I dun think that was wise of u to question his knowledge of the products in the store. U can't expect him to know everything. If I were u, I would just approach other experienced staff to answer my enquiry.
 
i dont think the TS has done anything wrong... bcos no matter what he says, the sales person shouldnt act that way.. as we know, customers are always right..
 
agree with the 2 repliers. somehow people think sales staff should know everything, but u should know that its really not possible. just ask the other staff who knows abt the thing. i just believe service goes both ways, you give a sales person shit, you get shit. people wont hurl vulgarities at you for no reason.
 
weird. why didnt the sales person himself refer the customer to his colleagues for help? i work in the sales line before and if a customer needs help in areas i am not good at, i'll refer them to my colleagues to assist. professionalism is a key factor here. and there's nothing wrong with not knowing your stuffs well.
 
Its like OMG!! Certainly weird to ask you to read the manual on your own. If thats the case, dunnid sales person.

we dunno what really happen... so we cant comment much actually..

but if what the TS says is true.. then i think the sales person is wrong
 
whatever it is "customers are always right"
its wrong to swear at your customers and even worse trying to beat them up.
if someone says that you're not up to standard then make yourself up to standard.Learn.
Is the sales person gonna swear and beat up every customer that accuse him of not knowing his products well?

to ts maybe hes not familiar with the robot only.thats all.
 
i dun believe that customers are always right. I believe that a shop has the right to refuse service to any customer. We don't really noe the situation. All in all, how much is swee lee paying their staffs? Is it a criteria for their staff to know all the products very well? After asking so much questions, trying out so many of their gear, are you gonna buy it? By telling him in his face that he doesn't noe his stuff well, you are questioning his competence, and offending him.
However, trying to attack you is definitely wrong. You should complain about this incident.
 
Wow.. But his reply of 'go home and read it yourself' was kind of offensive, wasn't it? Not as if TS was going to buy it straight away. He was only asking about functions only...
 
you should ask the salesguy whether he wants to earn a living working there or wanna be a hooligan??if he wants to be a salesperson,he should learn to be patient customer service orientated etc...or if he has a bad temper just stay away from direct sales..just do storeman,delivery guy etc..where he dont meet customer most of the time...why must he resort to physical violence just because of a rude remark??are you swearing and cursing his mother of father?did you put your hands on him??so what is he fighting for??pride??did you harras his family??sometimes we have to fight for something but not for stupid and small matters

What did Swee Lee management say when you complained to them? You did complain to them right?
 
No matter how much the employee is being paid or how he is being treated, such offensive behavior is taboo in the sales industry...

Giving a black face. Fine.
Refusal of service? Alright il go find another SL staff then.
But hurling vulgarities and attempting to assault the customer!?

you said to him why he does not know the products.

also, wads the tone of yr voice when you say that to him.

JUST Imagine you were the salesman.

Juz a little scenario to get people to understand me better.

Costumer: "How do you work this?"

You: I'm not that sure, could you read the manual when you reach home?

Costumer: Why You Dont knw the products? you the one that selling wad.


How do you feel if you are in the Salesman shoes. Do you will feel angry?
