Rusty Strings

No, because of the coils at the machine head, its gonna be very hard to put the string back on.

What you should do is, use a smooth cloth, apply some string polish, and spread it out evenly. Then wipe each string from top down. Don't have to remove the string.

and constantly removing and adding tension to the strings kill the string life i think. and before i use polish i usually use a cloth to wipe down the string individually, like cleaning behind the strings as well, before applying the string polish.

Er you're not wiping the fretboard with it... You don't press down and wipe all six strings in one shot. You use the cloth with the polish, and pinch the string, and slowly slide down. That way it will not affect your fretboard.

i always had this problem with my old guitar but fear not! a rough 2 minutes can set your guitar from rusty to rustless!

first off, i have sweaty palms, so after each time you play your guitar, use a cloth or an old T-shirt to wipe the strings and remember to get under them as well as dirt accumulates there.

if there is mild rust, use WD-40 on a cloth and wipe off.

if you're not gonna play your guitar for a while, i suggest oiling the metal parts too. Oiling usually prevents it from further rusting. If you can, my teacher taught me this trick to use fisherman's oil (for the fishing line), it lasts longer and is stronger*

*(salt water makes metal rust faster so a strong oil is used to prevent the line from rusting)

Hope this helps :D
