Rusty Strings

on the part where you say gibson has inconsistant quality controls , i have to disagree . your only welcomed to say that if you've owned more than one gibson . i have and that is not the case . they feel good even with rusty strings , sustain well . produce the best sound for me . and i can bash it everyday throwing it in and out of a case , leave it in the open , exposed to humidity , sometimes rain and all and it still sounds perfect . its used and abused but its one hell of a guitar .

nooo dont abuse it T.T just give em to me if you dont like em :(

where do you stay?
im sure the nice softies here will do it for no charge!

i can do it for free if you provide the strings

actually if you are the risk taker kinda person, then u cut the string in the middle, then u see how it goes through the bridge and then do it that way haha.

thats how i remove strings during changes

WARNING: LOOSEN the strings first, don't cut them when the guitar is so 'high strung'

I think it could be just as what you said, rust pups... Now as I play more often, it turns black, and doesn't brown my fingers and cloth already.

BTW, after every play, after I put it aside, I'll wipe with a "100% microfiber" cloth. So called LCD screen cleaning cloth.

All metal parts are still black, only got 1 bolt at the neck lock, got white dots around... Is that rust?

I think is the frigging maid, that just happily splash the wet mop near my guitar... Damn... I need a spy cam to take care of my guitar... Am I getting paranoid...

put the guitar in a gig bag
singapore's humidity is atrocious

after hearing numerous 'horror stories' about guitars getting knocked off and damaged...
safer to just leave it in a padded bag :D

being a notoriously "NGIAO" and "Kiasu" singaporean, I think I'll lock it in a hard case... Agarly how much? got less than $100

hard case? if you get a hard case you can buy silica gel from photograph shop places. fill a sock full of silica gel up and put it in the cutaway of the guitar, they will keep your case dry and prevent your strings and hardware from rusting.

the cheapest hard case i have seen is the Gator generic one, goes for 88 bucks at yamaha.

oh btw, if you wanna get silica gel, go to neighbourhood shops, they should cost around 3-4 bucks for 500 grams. dont buy from town cos they tend to rip you off. ie "oh this one 8 dollars. i charge you 6 dollars la haha."

I saw this hard case, from Ibanez... Damn chio... Leathery 1...

Singapore anywhere got sell this?
Budget<$200.

Hahaha... I still a noob lah... I won't go out to jam anyway... I'm out of those Churchy stuffs already... The hard case is a coffin for my RG to sleep inside in the night...

dont you take chemistry ,the white stuff , its a metal oxide , technically rusting

i totally agree , the hardcase will kill you if you jam often . haha but it offers good protection to guitars worth protecting
