I used to absolutely love building these WWII planes.

Done a 109, 163 (little bugger) Fischler Storch (stork?) He-111Z (this one my prized possesion. the 5 engined bastard child of 2 He-111s.

Have a Bf-110 unbuilt. Guitar playing taking up all my time.

fgl, jony - have you guys watched the film, "The Battle of Britain"? Filmed with real Heinkels from the Spanish Air Force - those were the days before CGI. Great film.

I like the all-glass nose and the wing shapes of the He-111. Alas, too vulnerable without fighter protection.

Betsybug - I even have the dvd .... one of my fav war movies ....

I esp luv the Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1 version .. though soem of the spits featured in the movie didnt carry authetic battle of britian markings

fgl - I have the dvd too :D
Thankfully it does not have the nationalistic rah-rah feel that runs through some american films like "Pearl Harbor". Ughh!

Historically there should be more Hurricanes than Spits but of course by 1969, not many Hurricanes can still fly. So, this film need to be remade with CGI!!

yeah "Pearl Harbour " was crap-ish... even the P40s they used were not of the actual pearl harbour models (which were p40Bs - I think they used P40Ks in the movie) with a totally diffient paint scheme & markings.

The movie "Tora Tora Tora" has a much better representation of the pearl Harbour attack ...and more factual too w/o all that love story shitte ....

Anyone built any B17F ?- I got one with Memphis Belle markings half done for the last 5 years ..lolz no time ...

talking about ww2 movies and memphis belle. that show was great too. another one was the tuskagess fighters(i think that was the name) about black american pilots during ww2. great show. the spitifre was by far one of the best looking and sounding aircraft of ww2 till the mustang came. the v12 merlins had a way telling everyone there were there.

tuskagee airmen - yah nice ... P51s ... the real squadron flew P51Bs and Cs but the movies potray them with P51Ds from the start though ...

nice movie though..

Baa Baa Black Shep was my all time fav ww2 TV series. They used F4u4s instead F4u1As as used by the actual squadron
