Anyone has this pedal? Its so tweakable, but would I be fully utilising it? issit worth it, or would I be pretty damn happy with a Picture Wah instead?

I like to play stuff like satch but I want the wah to cover all bases. possible?

Come with me to Mrmisse when the RMCs ship in. :)

You'll only know after you tried the RMC, RMC2, Picture and (that hi gain wah) if the RMC3 is for you. It ain't something you wanna open up and tweak time and again for sure. More of a set and forget. Find your own unique voice.

I'm aiming for the RMC2.

Malcolm has the picture wah. I tried it. Its got a lot of WAH in it, but the travel is awfully short and thats the main thing against it.

RMC3

haha i had this pedal b4, i sold it to buy a new guitar :P

its the ultimate in tweakability, though the trim pots take some time to get used to... the settings are very very very nice, and unlike certain jim dunlop wahs i have used/own, sound very warm... middy.. .vowelly and cut through the mix when u play it. my fav setting was the SRV 1... rich in mids n warmth... but the thing abt it is that it takes time to find the sound u want, i spend countless hrs with it.. .and wat sounded good on 1 guitar din sound tat great on another. so if u want versatility i highly recommend the rmc2 for quick switching.

but if u want tat elusive wah sound, the rmc3 is THE one for u... oh request that the wah has a built in LED preferably on the left side of the pedal if u use ur right foot to wah, tat way u can see it better. mine was at the top of the pedal and sometimes my own foot blocked the LED

oooh interesting....But I don't think I'm THAT nitpicky about the wah sound as long as its not too trebly...so maybe a RMC2 will suffice...when will the new shipments be coming anw?

Anyone here played on the Automagic Silver Machine 2 Wah...sound samples sound very interesting....lot of variety.... :D and its build like a tank....
costs a bomb though... 8O

Check out the Budda too.

Seriously underrated with all the hype surrounding RMCs.

I've had RMC wahs before, imho their voicing is "WAH" type of sound, Budda's have a "WOW" type of voicing.

I recently did a shootout between the RMC3, WOF and the Budda. I wanted so much to like the RMCs, the WOF wah had a shrill on the top end, almost dirty. I felt as if I was constantly try to tune the RMC3 to sound like the Budda.

Bought the Budda in the end.

At the end of the day it's all just preference, if you have not checked out the Budda, give it a go. It might just be what you're looking for, but for lesser coin of course.

thanks bud. cant find anyone here in Aus that stocks RMC wahs, but yeah Ill give Budda a go.

Basically just want a wah with lots of sweep, pedal throw, and can sustain the note for long. organic kind of sound, but hey what does organic really sound like...

have you experienced problems with the bud wah, construction etc? some guys on HC are saying that.

actually checked out the sound clip on musicians friend and the funk sample is cool.

I can't really comment much, I've only owned it for about a week.

So far so good, the best gauge of a Wah pedal is really how it sounds in a jam or a gig setting. Playing by yourself in front of an amp is not a good enough indication for me, the wah really has to cut through.

The Budda sounded great yesterday during my jam. :)

The RMC3 is a great wah also, some say the Ultimate wah.

While tweaking the dip switches I was able to get some crazy envelope filter type sweeps too. But it's just way too much trouble to mess around with all of those switches and trimpots, furthermore everything is located inside the wah.

bluesmonkey the Budda wah has no internal trim pots.

I guess it's just a matter of preference and really at the end of the day what kind of voicing you're looking for. I was like you when I was researching about wahs too, checking out every single post on all good gear forums about wahs.

At the end of the day what I learnt was that wahs are extremely subjective because of how they react with the individual player's dynamics - Why do you think it's so tough to recreate Voodoo Child...slight return of course! ;)

My advice is to go check them out for yourself with your fave guitar and distortion pedal, I got mine at TYMC, the environment is great, and the service is top notch!

Hmmm the budwah shld be built to last since it is assembled by dunlop according to budda's design.......but i heard that the later ones r like build totally by budda so.....not too sure abt that.....imo if u pay 200 bucks or more for a wah it shld hold up, cause if it doesnt than it is a ripoff!

The budda wah is a great wah for low-mid gain stuff. But definitely not if you're gonna crank your gain up.

To my ears the clarity of e budda wah is immense when i comes to low-mid gain, sweet-sounding, clear notes. I tried out other several crybaby/vox wahs and none of them compared to e budda.

However, I just felt that on higher gain the wah sounds fuzzy and not as transparant as it should be on my set-up. Basically sounds... urrrgh. I've noticed my sweep is also reduced.

I'm rather tempted to try out e RMC wahs cause of this.

Basically just want a wah with lots of sweep, pedal throw, and can sustain the note for long. organic kind of sound, but hey what does organic really sound like...

Organic would be... vowel like. Like a human voice. Might be full, throaty, growling, bassy, etc etc... but its got to be closer to have a human voice articulates. Its like you can sustain notes/chords and get a long drawl...

The BudWah didn't sound organic. Sounds more funk-ish, more "mechanical", more boxy, more envelope-filter-ish. Where the RMCs tend to sound very organic... very voice-like. Anyway, the BudWah doesn't work well with higher gain settings.

Personally, I prefer a less organic sound but don't give me an envelope filter. So its sorta an in-between taste.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, a matter of perspective.

I tried the Budda wah through high gain settings and found it to perform very well.

LOL.

Try it for yourself and see.

Interesting... better mention what = high gain then?

I thought THE high gain tone was = Zakk Wylde's wah tone. Or even Dimebag's. That kind of thing... which isn't really my cup of tea but seems to be sough after by heavy gain-ers.

So fade2b14ck & SoulJah - what are the high gain tones you mentioned?
