RMC3 WAH

LOL.

Relativity is a bitch, especially online. ;)

High gain to me, possibly something like Steve Vai's Tender Surrender, during the wah solos.

Dimebag and Zakk Wylde tones are great, but they are just really over the top for me.

I do feel however there is no be all end all wah. For the same token, I would never expect a wah great at doing Dimebag tones to excel at doing tender wah sweeps or funky rhythms. I'll still probably buy another wah, just because I love have flexibility and different options.

I think one thing that most players fail to notice is that there is a certain technique in playing a wah pedal. And this is why most folks never really hear what a wah really is about. Shoot me if you will. All wahs have different sweet spots, the point whereby the notes bloom and transcend from OOOOOOH...to WAAAAAH. If you rock too fast you'll miss it, too slow and you'll under accentuate it.

Hehe. Tell me abt it.

Dude, Vai's wah-work in Tender Surrender is the stuff of legends. And its actually not so much about the tone - its the way he worketh the wah-age. Which your last para addresses and I totally agree.

Auto-Wah anyone?

I love autowah tones, but its very difficult to find a good one. The ones which are pronounced have shrills and unwanted distortion on the top end. Very few of them are really warm.

So far the best one I've checked out is the Xotic Robotalk, great great sounding pedal. I've sold mine off just only, sadness.

I play a lot of funk rhythm in the stuff I do, sometimes an autowah or an envelope filter is irreplaceable. I'm currently waiting out on the Robotalk 2...hopefully it'll appear after Summer NAMM!

Hmm,

I find that if you are using a clean signal, the Budda wah is more pronounced and dynamic enuff to get da funk out! As compared to the RMC's i've tried of course.

Really depends on the individual's ears and what you're after.

Tried that old Tonefactor Analog Filter? I found it has mojo!

And no wonder you sold off the Robotalk 1!!! Hehehe.

Snuff ah - methinks that you're right. RMCs are generally more compressed and more vocal-like compared to the wakka-wakka funk wah tones are usually associated with.

souljah- hehehehe, here i am acting busy all in front of my PC all in my office..my staff thinks im like having a nervous breakdown all..eh, u also what!

Shredcow- wakaka is da funk! I solved my problem by bringing 2 wahs- one for cleans(Budda) and one for dirty(Wizard Wah), which will invite stares and disapproving head-shakes from everyone beside me.

souljah- hahahahahahhahah!!!thats how i normally "catch" people here...looking at the tabs below..basket....heng ah, for me, i got lotsa privacy, only the building behind me can see what im doing in my office....ok ok ...time to be productive...so anyways, yeah, budda is da bomb!

gat back to wahk ...:-D

btw the RMC4 has an opamp buffered input ....with BC109  transistors.
Plays nice with FF type.

..get a pot out for transistor gain tweak does give ....ain't it cow ??

hahaha,,, im surfing soft openly on a 19" screen ...

boss is overseas...

shiokness... *kicks off shoes and wears slippers*

Shredcow, my idea of hi-gain would tremonti kinda tones from the "Blackbird" album, and anything above that.

snuffleupagus, the idea of having two wahs has always been lingering in my head, hahaha you've got my approval! =D I'd just can't bear to let my budda wah go!

And I'm surfing soft openly, at home! it's almost 5pm and I'm still in my PJs. =P
