Recommend me distortion pedal =))

The main one is at Woodlands, the other one would be at Peninsular B1. You mgiht want to check out TYMC at the same time.

To TS: Maybe you could consider the Subdecay Blackstar too.

Seventheaven.

and yes, I've been through the SC2, TL2, tubezone, sansamp gt2, countless modded ds-1s and mt2s crunchbox and many more....but I still end up going back to the seventheaven. Its the only dirt box so far that comes close to actual amp gain in my book.

In fact I was surprised when that the 7th even beats some reputed high gain amps dirt on the very clean channel of the same amp.

whitestrat n junkiemanxl: ok, now thats a point there. i'd want a pedal to work as a standalone. hmm.

THATS a very good point to be aware of...

Then, in that case, dare I suggest this:
TONEBONE+TRIMODE.JPG

Yup. Standard Value has two outlets. One is called Standard Value and is at Block 2A Woodlands Centre road, and the other is called SV Guitars and is at Peninsula Plaza / Excelsior hotel basement.

whitestrat: yeah bro, i checked that out. that thing's tone man. but its massive, and not sure of of price. haha. thanks for the suggestion. i'll check it out again.

this is funny
he ask where is it
and then one bro reply with the store's website lol

That is because the store's website contains the exact addresses of the two outlets. It is a well known fact that a shop's website would contain the addresses of the outlets, I believe.

Hey I've been following this thread as I am looking for a similar pedal to the OP. However I'm not familiar with music shops in sg so could someone let me know which shops sell the following pedals:

Barber Dirty Bomb
Hardwire SC2
Sansamp California

Thanks!

barber: tymc excelsior shopping centre
hardwire: try sweelee/buy sell in soft
sansamp: blackwood guitars ( opposite sweelee )

After reading the entire thread, I can see you're bent on the Biyang Metal End King. What's stopping you if you already have that in mind?

You mentioned standalone. That's a good point. While Whitestrat did mention the Tonebone Tri-mode, quite a few guys have said that it still does not have enough gain for them.

What you'r looking for is saturation. If that is what you want, I'd advise you to head down to woodworkz at penin and check out the Blackstar pedals. Especially the HT-Dual and the HT-DistX. Both pedals have enough gain and saturation to last you for days, especially the DistX. Its a bit of a one trick pony though but it'd do fine if you want a pedal with enough gain and saturation on its own - no stacking required.

omg i think i've created alil confusion here, both on my side and urs. i've mixed up my SEPARATE need for a flexible (low&high gain saturated or marshally pedal) and one of high gain high chugg (which is the point of this thread). my apologies on that.

godspeed64: haha u're right. i quite have the biyang in mind. would like to see what alternatives there are aside from the biyang. i'll never know what other pedals existed in this world. the guys have given me great recommendations so far. thats why i kinda stop the thread on my previous post. would need time to really evaluate the recommended pedals. no point if u say so many pedals i see website and say "ee not nice".

ized: hi bro, yeaps been eyeing the blackstar pedals (and amp too ;)) everytime i passed by woodworks. i could have guessed the one trick pony part. like i see 3 pedals with nearly the same descriptions! i hope the trick it does fits my requirements.

While Whitestrat did mention the Tonebone Tri-mode, quite a few guys have said that it still does not have enough gain for them.

Like I said before, I have a feeling these guys are not looking for gain when they make statements like that. The Tri-Mode is scary gain... It's hot enough to make your tiny combo sound like a wall of Mesas... Thing is, it's NOT compressed, and not very saturated. It's quite loose, in fact, which is very much like a real Mesa amp. It the same when people say the crunch box has not enough gain...

I met some kid who told me that, then proceeded to show me his Strat with vintage single coil pups that he uses to play thru the CB... And then he tells me "see? not enough gain." *epic facepalm*.

I believe the right combination is required regardless of setup. If you want tight compressed tones, playing them with PAFs might not get you what you want... You want the DiMarzio De-Activators in that case.

O.o unknown try a zvex box of rock.

Cranked up JTM45 Tones with a boost. Do note that many people dont like it because the bass response its a bit too much and rather difficult to dial out unless you stack it with a tubescreamer or a pedal that cuts bass when switched on. The clips sound awesome though.

For high gain OD im still banking on my catalinbread DLS. Not as high gain but really v sweet marshall tones with sufficient grit.

whitestrat: my ibanez is equipped with de-activators and i have plans to get a guitar with active pickups. so i guessed there're no worries on pickups. yeah maybe people get confused on gain, saturation and all these terms. i myself think gain as chugg. no chugg = no gain.

superpotato: hey bro, im planning on getting the DLS too. for a different use from the topic of this thread, though.

Then the Trimode WILL work for you... I tried the Trimode with a Xiphos... Shiokz!!!
