poetry/lyrics section

Hey contribute more stuff people, don't let this thread die out! I just found some of my old material to post here, not really that good I must admit.....

Ephemerality
Dark clouds swirl
In troubled skies.
Nightingales twirl
In dying cries.

Of mice and men,
Of calm and strife.
In blackened land,
With broken lives.

A dove, it flew,
With wings a-clipped.
A feather, it fell,
Once pure, now vile.

An olive tree stood
On a far away hill.
Browned with autumn,
Its leaves, they fell.

why dun someone post a topic or subject, and those interested can prepare (a) subsequent reply/replies to it? do it on a regular basis perhaps(once a week?)....?

tt way this thread will *never* die. :)

Here's another one of mine, critiques welcome for both my poems :)

Midnight Theatrical

He lies on a bed, his mind adrift,
Bobbing on a sea of chronicled past.
Of rage, of pain, of tears and hate,
These waves keep churning,
Keep churning in his head.

In his chilly gaze,
There flows a river of suffering.
Torrents of rage, of pain, of tears and hate,
They just keep flowing,
Keep flowing in his head.

He turns on his side, restless and stoic.
Affixed on the whitewashed walls,
Veins of crimson anger,
Cross the piercing onyx orbs.
He watches a grand opera,
Its star is someone he knows.
Acting out familiar scenes
He keeps acting,
Keeps acting in his head.

Tendrils of luminance creep up his side,
Tracing lines on his stony visage.
He unclenches his fists,
And dons his trusty mask.
Attired in blacks and whites,
He switches off the lights.

Dear

The sun starts to rise over the misty hillside
And the darkness of night fades away in sunlight
I observe the stars appear in the dark blue night sky.
The place I see you, by the fading daylight
I see only you.

Under the sun's pale rays, stop and turn to me.
Look on curiously at the flower I'm holding
Where you to take in your hand, and draw it to your chest you'd see
The flower blossoms to match your beauty.

Dear one, deep in your trappistine eyes I see...
Everything I ever held dear to me
I want to see you more...and together with you I wanna be
As your beauty mesmerises me...gently.

Just like that day before I see this dream continuing
And now I find myself trembling as I see you.
I see you in a garden- and once again.
I'm touched by what you are.

Dear one, deep in your trappistine eyes I see...
Everything I ever held dear to me
I want to see you more...and together with you I wanna be
As your beauty mesmerises me...gently.

As the daybreak enfolds us,
I'll whisper softly into your ear.
I love you,don't disappear.

Volatile
I dropped the bottle of scent and its contents emptied away as I furiously struggled to grab on to evaporating liquid so volatile I was just grabbing on to vapour and wishing it would remain.

Wrapped in your scent so abundant, my head starts to whirl as the vapour pours into my nostrils and yes I am breathing you in while I can.

You'll be gone so quick. Too quick for me to hold you close, for my brain to register your presence, for my heart to find another.

What am I going to do with all this space? I'll throw it into the closet and pretend it was never there. Right, right.

51
You must be so lonely,
50 empty seats and I'm the only one here listening to the sounds of my own insanity breathing.

No one registers your presence; not me, not them, not even the machine on the wall.

But you have plenty, don't you? Plenty to give, plenty to take. Plenty to twirl around your fingers on a lonely night like this.

I hope nothing changes after I go, I hope you'll still be here.

I'll be back, I promise. I promise I'll be back.
I promise.

You must be so lonely,
51 empty seats and you're the only one there listening to nothing at all.

Your Lost Soul in Heaven

Awakened by the sounds of raindrops
and the whispering of trees,
The sight of seven men dissappeared into the forest.
What happened later, wasn't what I expected to see.
Late afternoon calls, with the sky turning red.
Following those men sent corrupt pictures to my head.
She stood there,defenseless.
As they took her away, somewhere where no one would find them.
(But me.)

She was a maiden from heaven,
Sweetest you could find.
As precious as pearl.
Far beyond compare,
Like priceless vases.
Sought her everywhere.
She shone like the sunset on the river.
She caught men's eye like a jewel.
I watched those eyes all stain her thighs,
Looking like hungry wolves desperate for food.

And so for her,
The seven men took her deep within.
Where blue roses and red violets grew.
Tied her up,bound her hands and her feet.
Silk dress torn, her raven hair,
Flown to gown her beauty bared,
And so I watched,
Each one,taking turns,
Giving strokes all down her curves.
And I turned away, hearing screams and laughter.
I felt like I was six feet under.
As they stood on that sacred ground.
They took turns for their self-satisfactory ritual.
And it all ended soon, under the light of the moon.

-

Then they left,
Leaving seven deep cuts on her wrists and her heart.
I weeped as I walked to her.
She said these seven words.
"Farewell,love,Jealous heaven stole our hearts."
I screamed,
"I was, forever was,in love with thee,so why does fate stand inbetween?"

A smile and a last breath, that was all I could take.
The seven knives they left behind, now in my hands.
Each one I shall place in each of their hearts.

...and each word that they said was a fake.
rewriting the words of heaven,
and with each key to your destruction in my hand...
thou shall suffer.

And so for her,
The air was filled with screams and weeping.
My soul chased her phantom and blew.
Her life was their choice.
For their self-satisfactory ritual.
Where blood stained blue roses and red violets grew,
Where everything in my life now seeks revenge
For my love's lost soul, under the light of the moon.

She was a maiden from heaven,
Sweetest you could find.
As precious as pearl.
Far beyond compare,
Like priceless vases.
Sought her everywhere.
She shone like the sunset on the river.
She caught men's eye like a jewel.
I watched those eyes all stain her thighs.
And now, she's cold and she's lost her soul,
To the Heaven in the sky.

nice. haha. i dont know what to say. i thought we were going to keep this thread alive, so few people posting tsk

Clotted silence
Mirrored pain
Nothing ever
Stayed the same
Drowning in
A tender state
Begging freedom
Change my fate

Loving everything
I lost
Breaking silence
At a cost
Bearing with
Heated screams
Role rehearsal
Splitting semas

Suffocating
Nervous beat
Perfect thunder
At your feet
Finally
A cradle cried
My immortal
Burnt and died

'perfect thunder at your feet'. i like that line! And you're 13yo only huh.. read your intro page.

The Aftermath
The shadow of guilt swept across the room,
Like black doves on a mission,
The Aftermath
It swooped down on the man sitting on the sofa,
With hands covering his grief-stricken face.

Alone in the room he sits, hurt by his own
Existence

Why, what, how could it happen?
The giant hand which scooped him from the flames of hell seemed at fault now.
Yet as he sits alone, he is praying –
Not for things to get better, or for her to come back.
He’s just praying that he could simply,

Forget.

I like Daryl's stuff =)
And of course, since I've joined in, I can at least make it two pages bigger if I took out all my old stuff in the other hdd, or my da account.

And I'll try hard to put stuff here on a regular basis ^^

Seven Men, Sweet Surrender
(Btw, its the continuation of Your Lost Soul in Heaven on the previous page.)
(I feel pretty guilty posting this. Some of the lines were stolen.)

He painted the skies all dark and angry.
With lightning and rain falling from the sky.
A picturesque scene,a castle by a hillside,
But near the forest where She died.

I crept towards the castle doors.
Dodged throwing knives and sharp steel swords.
Like a wolf chasing its prey I was desperate for blood.
And with these seven knives in my hand I shall get what I want.

And with each floor I'll race through,
Till I get up there and get to you.
Stab your heart and slit thy throat,
Throw you down into the castle moat.

And six men's hearts I've stabbed,
The last one remains ahead.
Like a lycanthrope until the moon glazed over,
I was lipped with blood and last goodbyes.

And at the final hour, the last door ahead.
The last dagger in my hand,
The top,thats where I'll stand.

Once I broke the door down,
He looked at me and laughed,
I heard six kinds of the same laughter.
I stood defenseless,my suppossed victory, now my sad surrender.

-

I scream through the bars at the stars
That for these crimes of mine solace me.
It didn't feel the same, this sharp searing pain.
Was the sign I failed you and me.

Now as the creatures around me roar
And the men laugh by the door.
I saw both our ghosts in the fog.
When we both turn no more.
