Pitch Shifter

What should i use to emulate this sound? I think the guitarist (guy with the red SG) is using a pitch shifter or octave thingy(esp during the riff and the solo). Sorry im new to this pitch/octave thingy.

Any recommendations of what pedal, its functions and where to get it?

Thanks alot :D

he doesnt seem to be using a pitch shifter its just his distortion. the low during the bass you hear is the bass player doubling his lines.

heh, +69 to bro ciel bro.

or if not the bassrer doubling his line. It cud be the guitarer doubling his solo by playing the adjacent thicker string together with the fretted notes..

+69 back to you bro tts how i heard it on the solo, similar to double stops i wld be thinking. There IZED bro we just save you a hundred bucks on a pitch shifter you din need.

Haha thanks so far guys, hmm, i think the guitarist plays with a pitch shifter or sth octave that alters his pitch...cos....our band we regularly jam this song and i play the opening riff and the solo exactly like how he plays it so lol....i suspect a pedal at work here =)

This is the version we normally play, note the difference from the one i posted on top....The solo and the riff sounds normal...like how i play it....but how come the above sounds like a pitch higher during the starting and solo....somebody enlighten me please....

Hmm i like the whammy but den its expensive....lol :D

pitch bending? you mean string bending bro?
he is doing a bend on a string with the same note on another string which isnt bent.

btw.. i don't really like the music.sorry to be rude dude..its repeating the same thing over n over for 4-5mins...

hmm bro, i think u are missing the point. i mean there is quite obvious a change in pitch(during the riff and the solo) between the two videos, when u hear the above vid and the first one i posted. Its the same song.

This is the first:

This is the second:

The guitarist(guy with the red SG) is playing EXACTLY the same notes, same bending and everything but it sounds different, like as if a pitch change has occured or somewhat a multi level octave sound. that is wat im trying to to do to emulate their sound. Nvm about u nt liking their music, its ur opinion anyways and i respect that.

Hope i've cleared whatever misunderstandings, alot of ppl just seem to think its bending and stuff. I would really appreciate it if u guys see the videos first before u post, both in question.

Thanks for your advice thus far guys!!! :D

ehh bro ized. i duno abt you i listened to both tracks. individually on both of the clips i dun hear any pitch shifters or octavers in the song at all.

the 2 clips do sound a bit differnt bt im thinkin its just the recording the singer is still singing in the same pitch so i don't think the band changed the tuning.

btw have you heard what an octaver sounds like?

hmm, heard once or twice before but nt exactly sure. maybe its not an octaver den? waht could it be?

if u noticed, the riff in the second video sounded higher den the first, den it went back to normal respectively.....

same as the guitar solo.

Dunno maybe its just me im very anal to attentuation of the slightest details.

you ear is out of tune ...get it fixed !!

nono.. its our ears having some problem man..

ok ized, it is pitch shifter and octaver in use! Go grab them at your friendly musical store!

*if you intend to sell them afterwards coz they still cant achieve ur desired tone or effect, do ask me if i want to buy from you k? i prefer boss ps5 and oc3! If you can find those vintage boss pedals i wun mind getting from u too

ehh bro ized bro. i say again. me thinks its just the recording making them sound like different pitch bt you listen closely they same pitch laaa.

ask golden ear shredcow to go tak a listen. Daniel where you!

I dun have golden ears lah Ian! but I wanna mount my screwdriver on a brick can? 8)

Ized, I really can't hear any octave or pitch shifting happening... there might be a touch of chorus (or the audio distorting) in the 2nd clip, but otherwise, its pretty normal.

I could go home then listen again... since office, can't turn it up.

ok, maybe its just me giving too much attentuation to the slightest detail....hmm anyway im much of a newbie when octave/pitch stuff is concerned. But thanks for the comments guys, useful or not.

Hmm yeah im actually still interested in the octaver/pitch shifter thing.....i've done my homework....An octaver can produce an octave or two below what u are playing rite? While the PH-5 Pitch shifter can produce +2/-2.....not to mention a harmoniser as well....so does that mean a pitch shifter is more versatile?

What do u guys recommend? :D
