hey guys, let's talk about our picks. what kind of picks do you use? does the size matter? Do your picks always get lost?

for myself i just use any pick i can get my hands to.there was a time when i lost ALL my picks and was too lazy to buy them, so i used a coin :X but i prefer larger picks. yeah, tell me about your pick, im curious!

i prefer hard picks and pointed ones... Haha.. easier to do squeals...(maybe I noob so can't use blunt picks HAHA)

Jazz IIIs ! They're tiny, but once i started using them i never went back to the dunlop tortex ones. But they get lost all the time so its annoying shit.

i like jazz IIIs too but the XL ones cos i find the small ones too small. i just feel so at home with them..

i used to like dunlop tear drops during my shred era as a guitarist. it psychologically made me feel like they make me playing faster

Dunlop tortex 0.6mm, the orange ones.

I mostly use Jim Dunlop picks. I use hard plastic (celluloid) mediums for electric and soft nylon picks (can be as thick as 0.8mm) for acoustic, though sometimes I don't use a pick when I play acoustic. I don't like thick or hard picks because they give my strings a hard time, and because of my finger's dryness, they tend to fly off very often.

I just use my nails, I position my fist/hand as if there's a pick
but the string contact is with the nail.

No offense to the pick-users, it feels more "a part of me" than
using a pick.

EdwinGoh: Agreed! And to me it sounds better too. You play acoustic or electric? I tried using nails for electric and it's impossible for me.

I use Jim Dunlop Tortex picks. They are the best! I usually use the 1.0mm and 1.14mm ones. As you can see from the pic, I'm a big fan :mrgreen: I bought em at a wholesale price from ebay..

Jazz IIIs. I've both the red and black ones. Bought over 20 of them 5 years back. I use them for most of what I play.

For strumming, I like the Larrivee picks that came with the guitar.

Using picks on acoustics is impossible for me. Lol.
