Heh... The Tom Holmes will go in first... but my Skatterbranes are coming!!!!

let me know how they sound.
Tom holmes and Skatterbranes. thinking of putting some nice pick ups into the R7.

I have installed the RS stuffs in my R7. the tone controls are more usable.

Couldn't really tell much difference between the RS super pots and original Gibson pots.
haha

I took a rather nice photo of my les paul. It looks exactly the same as before but totally different on the inside, and its a completely different sounding guitar today as compared to before.

change the boring black knobs to gold ones!!!!

No! Too oh biang already. I've thought about changing them I've tried imagining them with all the knobs used on Les Pauls they just didn't seem right. The black matches with the other black parts. Must have balance.. ;)

Not gold la, but maybe those classy top-hat ones on Historics? :) Btw how on earth do you use that Bigsby? I have one and it throws my tuning completely out of whack after a few sharp wiggles. And press it down a little too hard and it just lets all the strings slip and it's like an instant half-step down. :(

Yeah, the top hat ones. Those aren't black. I like em black cos its a nice balance with the overall look.

I use it only for subtle stuff, like, I let a chord sustain, and use it. What it gives is like a very nice warble, slight chorusing effect. Very subtly beautiful. A good example is Lenny, SRV, Les Paul style.

My tuning issues have improved drastically. Must be because I use the roller bridge. I haven't even installed Eclipze's composite nut yet, which he claims is extremely slipperly, which makes it perfect for Bigsby usage.

2009 has been a busy year (guitar gear wise). Just to share some of the stuff done during the later part of the year.

DIY locking patch bay (wish there was space for a in/out config under the pedal train).

And the humble little valbee (still rocking!) :

into a G12M Greenback (freaking sweet!)

The stock speaker in the valbee was way too bassy. The boom sounds really artificial. The greenback sounded fantastic! Nice bass, very balanced compared to the V30 in the Bogner Alchemist combo. It does roll off some of the extreme highs, so the fizz from the Triple Wreck was not as apparent. Nice, I rikes!

And new pickup! Stan Hinesley Zen. Replaced the JB in the bridge. Couldn't stand the dark and nasal quality of the JB. Now it sounds like a real bridge pickup! Fat and juicy!

Still love the Jazz in the neck. Might try out the Fusion, but think must... stop...buy... buy... buying gears liao. =P

Nice photo take! Light angle really accentuates the curves. Yup, I agree. Black knobs looks better.
