Thanks guys for the compliments,.. really appreciate it. The Rivera was just bought as in today. Got it from luther classified, theres several of em on sale there. Mine was 870 sgd. The owner said new about 1900 sgd n u havta get em from the states. Its about 2-3 years old but its in very good condition almost pristine, as the previous owner had many amps n just put the rivera to one side after it was bought. Well, i hope this stop my GAS i had been ampless for months, n when i got my PRS ive only played it 'unplugged' so when i tried it out today it was the very first time i heard my PRS plugged. Sounds great n complement the SAS well.

Woot.. 870 sgd is a steal man. One of the lowest price to ever go around on Luther. Anyway, have fun with your new amp. Your PRS must have sounded superb through it.

vern: did you by any chance replace your Ibanez S570 bridge? i'm asking because S5XX series, feature a lo-pro vibrato...

Everything is stock. According to the manual, mine is the 'Edge' trem unit.

vern: i see... then yours should be the S470 instead... S5XX models were equipped with the Lo-pro Edge Vibrato, here's my S540...

Really? To be honest I was never sure (I have the receipt from it at my folks' place in UK) but I'm pretty sure it was either a 540 or 570 (definitely started with a '5').

Is there a way to find out from the serial num?

vernmore on my S540 soon- my digi camera not with me in the mean time... i actually have another blue S540 but was sold off- unplayed.

serial number verification is a tricky one, year confirmation maybe but not model confirmation. i have a 1997 Ibanez catalogue with exactly your guitar in it, i'll scan it soon...

not to be left out, here's my 50th Ann Am Series strat. i got bored with the mid pickup & swapped it for a Fender 57/ 62 bevelled pole pieces single coil & it made a very sweet diff...

Here's my Fender Strat I bought not too long ago.. I've looked it up a few places and my guitar has 2 names: Floyd Rose Classic Stratocaster and Floyd Rose Strat Special, wonder why. I bought it used and it didn't come with the locking nut but I asked Swee Lee to order it for me, it should be here by next month. I hope.

wow

Wow...!!!!!!!!! this is the kinda fender Richie sambora used.
this sure reali Power!!!!!!! how is its actuali???

Who? Me or subversion? Anyways the bridge pickup was changed to a dimarzio by the previous owner, god knows what pickup it is.. I play metal and it rocks my boat. On clean the bridge pup sounds really quacky, and the neck pup sounds nice and clangy. With a little overdrive I can get pretty nice blues tones out of the neck pup. Very happy with my guitar, except that it does go a little out of tune when I dive bomb the fella due to the lack of locking nuts, but not as bad as guitars with vintage trems. Hope my locking nuts arrive soon..

Maybe someone can help me identify what dimarzio this is?

dhadf

this can either be
dimarzio X2NB
or paf pro
i dont knoe, just give it at shot...
any guessess

Gee do you have a marshall amp to go with that cab? A marshall cab is for a marshal amp to sit on.. not.. what are those, wah pedals? Btw what do you use to power your effect pedals? 9v batteries or wall wart?

it's definitely NOT X2N- this humbucker has a 'rail' type magnet, similar to Duncan's Hot Rails. it may be a Distortion. a sure way to find out is to unscrew the pickup the next time you re-string, look underneath for any Numbers/ indicators, let us know if you find any... 8)

very strange Fender this one, floyd but no locking nut. by the look of things, i'd rather you keep the nut as it is & opt for locking tuners/ machine heads instead. just my opinion...

Background info:
Richie Sambora isn't with Fender any more- the reason why you don't see his guitars in the catalogue/ fender's homepage. it was a bitter departure because through a misunderstanding, Fender associated the Tone Master amp with Sambora's name. apparantly, the man wasn't too happy with the association although he's very happy with the Tone Master amp (i agree, the best Fender high gain amp i've come across). so now sambora favours Gibson + Marshall...

subversion >> I thought about changing to locking tuners but the tuners on my guitar are vintage ones.. The locking tuners that are selling don't seem to fit my guitar unless I drill extra holes, and I don't exactly wish to do that.. Then I saw the roller nut selling at davis, together with all the other cheap misc spare parts.. Haha.. Also, the original guitar came with a locking nut, that's why I want to change it back. Btw, why do you rather me keep the nut as it is?

ah, that explains things- so the nut we see in the pics above are actually replacement nuts, this fender came with locking nuts actually...

i was thinking that if that's the original nut in there, if you'd try to equip a locking version, it'll be a serious makeover & would affect tone. locking tuners/ machine heads would be the least adverse thing to accomodate here.

locking tuners can't fit your guitar yes? the current Fender Am Deluxe 50th Ann has locking tuners, maybe these would fit? hmm...
