ok so people,i am planning to get an overdrive pedal within this week.So far i've got 4 pedals that i am considering, they are...Digitech bad monkey tube overdrive,Digitech tone driver,Ts7 and finally ts9...i am looking for a smooth overdrive to get the sound SIMILAR to eric johnson...please give constructive comments.thanks!

get the bad monkey.

its cheap and really tweakable due to the treble and bass EQing.

has a bigger gain range them the TS series which gives it more flexibility.

Hmm.

Well given you list... I'd suggest you try the Bad Monkey too... but why not give wlydeboon an PM.. he's selling off his Russian Muff for a good price.

hahaha ok according to my book.

if you wanna sound like EJ:

strat-> (essentially) BK Butler Tube Driver, Fuzz Face, t.c electronics stereo chorus-> marshall plexis.

Hows that for a constructive response mr Rork?

*sigh*
Because none of the pedals you mentioned will give you Eric Johnson.

The muff crawldaddy mentioned, now that can get you closer.

Hmm.

Yups. Have a nice muff and an EQ pedal plus a volume booster.. will get you places. Good luck finding your dream pedal :) some people just have different ways of putting their points across.. no right or wrong

Hmm, I thought EJ uses a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz? no?

If it is the Dallas Arbiter, maybe u can try the dunlops reissue...
I dunno how close is the reissue compared to the original though...

Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face i believe is what its called. the Dunlop reissues are really looked down upon on other forums. try roger mayer fuzz pedals but they are really difficult to find locally.

EJ apparently used a green TS like pedal during his Singapore concert @ NUS Concert Hall. Sorry, no pictures. I just see with my eyes only. Funny thing is he put the TS on the brick (which was supposed to be for the Tube Driver).

Any case - read nickyseow's signature. So true.

sound like edder.
