That is the most humanely way possible to kill an animal. The objective is that they will die fast. That is why lions etc attack the neck of their prey, same objective.

I repeat, if you want to eat a cat, dog, rabbit etc go ahead even though I am a cat lover because I can understand that it might be a culture thing etc, but please kill it humanely first.

All foods are considered Halal except the following, which are Haram:

Swine/pork and its by-products
Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering
Animals killed in the name of anyone other than ALLAH (God)
Alcohol and intoxicants
Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and land animals without external ears
Blood and blood by-products
Foods contaminated with any of the above products

to put it in a nicer context, we do not brutally slaughter food. We slit their throats whilst we say the proper prayers. Interesting how this argument has taken a twist. Contact me when the next Hari Raya Haji approaches, I'll gladly bring you to a mosque and show you how the appropriate slaughtering is done.

painful truth is no animal wants to end up on the chopping block. pure instinct. some will still struggle but we do our best to calm them down.

as for the halal procedure, as a chinese..i respect that the muslims says the prayers before they 'work' on the animal. its damn proper and respectful..we should understand each other culture and religion more.
