Spend a lot of money?

Haha. Actually, I dont have any experience in building cabs. But the part on the money is true. You need good quality wood for a good sound.

Also some tips:
Take reference to existing cab construction, and look at what you want.
Decide whether you want it openback/closeback - it makes a difference in tonal quality.
Take care not to mismatch speakers.
Ask a lot on the specialized cab making forums. TGP isn't one, but it's a good start to search there extensively and ask questions.
Budget your costs.
Tolexing might be a problem if you want - I don't know of anyone locally who knows how to tolex the cab well.

Existing cabs on the local market should be cheaper than making a cab.

lol... kk you know of anywhere to get cheap cabs? coz haha after looking at SL and peninsula i cant find any =(

Davis has a Crate 112 for $350.

Citymusic has Vox 212 cab.

Also, Line 6 Flextone III 112 cab, but that you have to preorder, available say December, and the Celestion speaker on that cab is supposely flat response.

You can also order in a Carvin 112E from Ranking. Upwards of $400.

This should give you a guage how expensive it is to build a quality cab. :P

Are all Eminences confirmed?

Eminence is awesome. :D

Was just surfing TGP and stumbled on a Celestion vs Eminence post. Almost everyone preferred Eminence (surprise surprise!) I wasn't expecting that.

http://thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=156903

Anyway, would you think posting an offer for MO on luther/yahooauct would get more interested people? The worry here is that people might pull out, so need to confirm (payment in advance or something)

Also note: GST might still be imposed, depending on how the speaker purchase is viewed at the customs.

Keep our fingers cross, still don't know if they could supply us. Hope they would.

Was reading the thread you gave me. They are so fortunate to be able to experience with different speakers. Back here most people are stuck with stocks speakers

Check this out!

I just found out that the Eminence Cannabis Rex is a hemp cone - they licensed it from Tone Tubby. (They're the only one who licensed the patent).

Now it's between Red White and Blues & Cannabis Rex... hmm.

Erm... MF dont ship overseas right? At least that's what they say.

Disappointing reply from Malaysian distro man. How come it's so hard to spend money on Eminence speakers?

Trying to buy more than USD100, ship free within US, then use vPost. :D

Think I'm quite sold on Eminence, its more efficient.
Celestion is too over-rated and overpriced. A luxury item that rock star can afford.
