sorry to be a little off topic, does anyone know what song was played on the PA 2 songs after knights of cydonia? it was a slow one

by any count.... the "security"... i never figured out who was who. there were a few folks apart from the topless GUYS (hahaha, what? beach party?) who looked more like those plainclothes policemen walking around. they actually confiscated the cameras? or gave people the ultimatum to "keep or get confiscated"? or essentially, if you kept your cameras, you were free to stay on for the show and not get it confiscated?

lesson learnt: bring my camera to the venue, wont chuck you out (since there are no locker facilities there) so that i can carrry on shooting in the rain, plus get a waterproof pouch for your PDA if you carry one....

Dude!

Thanks for writing down the setlist. I believe it was Forsaken that came before Ministry of Lost Souls. I'm quite sure that the part from SFAM in the encore was One Last Time. I don't think they did Prophets of War at all.

They segued into a non-DT song towards the end of Surrounded (the bit before they 'closed' the song). Does anybody know what it was? I got the impression that it was a Pink Floyd one (looked like the Wall album art on the backdrop).

If I'm not wrong the animations during Dark Eternal Night were done by some guy who did the one for Octavarium. Looked like it's in the same style. It really brought another dimension to the song. My cursory google-ing isn't bringing up any names. Might try harder later.

Thank you, bye bye!

Sorry, the rest of the pics, including the meet and greet, will be uploaded only next week in the gallery as I have to make final touches to my school FYS.

Thanks you.

Wow! AMAKA! The rain shots are damm touching. Only those who are there will know what it is like standing in the rain and enjoying the show.

John Petrucci

Nice shots man... This one is cool. Love the initial NADS cartoon one as well. Did you get the one where he ended up screaming that one note at the end of Octavarium (last last song). Somemore he was holding that Rock God pose for damn long... whahahaha...

the rain was no joke sia... But they gave a killer show. 3hrs... Damn!

amaka.... FANTASTIC metering! i assume you shot entirely on manual ;) this is so so so much better than the 2006 gig where i couldn't shoot using my own slr at the event.... you made my day pal! :)

i was quite surprised (ok, so i'm behind time) when mike was using an all acrylic drumset.... i would have thought he would have been using the old purple monster kit.... see la, i can't remember exactly which kit he used in 2006 cos got no photos to refer to. i wonder if those are still starclassics he's using... DEFINITELY NOT maple anymore! ;)

Amaka, post every DT pic u tooklar.Besides, i thought camera not allowed. Your shooting is superblar. Can share wat type of lense and metering u use ar?

Personally I didn't enjoy the setlist, because I was kind of looking forward to a ballad to end the show.

But of course they put up a 10/10 show. The intensity of the rain also seemed to mirror the intensity of the show!

JP's lead tone was great, but it was the clean tone in the first half of the show that blew me away. It literally gave me goosebumps and sent chills down my spine. :)

Thank you James, thank you again for this opportunity to get up close with the band!

Whitestrat - Thanks alot, its my favourite pic of the day. :) I'm not sure what rock god pose you are referring to, maybe because i missed it as i was making my way down to the field from the building above to catch the final good bye to the fans. :(

sehsuan and sehsuan - I will post the rest hopefully by monday nite. Yeap, i shot entirely on manual at iso 800 and 1600 with shutter speed around 60-125. The lens is Nikon 18-200 VR. Not a ideal low light lens but saves alot of trouble. :)

Great pics amaka!

Is it possible to get high res pics from you? Would love some of the pics as wallpaper :D

Its definately been a magical experiance for me. Really worth all the cash and time spent to travel from KL. Its so freakin overwhelming to see the same dudes I have only seen only on media finally on stage after all these years.

The set list looked like it was geared more to a karoake session. Maybe they felt we were the land of KTV. La Bries vocals sounded really awesome I must say!

Lotsoff of slower tempo songs we played and of course. I was expecting the more powerful numbers like strange deja vu, glass prison and panic attack. But nonetheless it was the magical experiance I was hoping for and I still got it. But when dark eternal night was played with the montage in the back, I think I lost it.

Yeah, I did get my camera confisticated. I knew video recordings are always prohibitated but I didint know photography was not allowed too. I have been to Muse, Napalm Death and MCR in Malaysia last year but no one confisticated any photo camera or phones. No one was allowed to take of their shirts in the concert especially the organizers and artitists. Guess different rules apply.

But hey other then that, I got some pics, the sound system and dream theater were fantastic, the fan support was great ,my stay in singapore was awesome!

DT's setlist was the same throughout their Asia tour...

If you followed all their setlist from the beginning of the tour, you can find that they're more or less the same. They won't repeat songs from the last show they did here, which they had already played Dejavu and Panic Attack.

Screamosphere, you mean to say you didn't get back your camera? No kidding?....

By the way, it was Finally Free that was played - the shooting scene's featured. :)
