reallly hope tat my 4mths more rgt42 wont have any fret buzz... ok... the default was hell... i sent it for set up neck leveling.. everything during jan at guitar connection... kelvin the good guy done a good job which i felt it was superb when trying it out before i took home.. good action with 0 fret buzz anywhere...

then i came home.. damn... 4th string(D string) on 9-15 fret. started some buzzing... i felt it was like ok... not really alot until like late last mth... even the bass strings all started ringing...

today i sent back to kelvin... he said neck had warp... maybe the strings i used sucks.. lolx... ok he did another twist turn for me.. and ok... i tried... cool..everything was good again... now... happily go home... on just tapping on the bass string i felt something was wrong... damn... the fret buzz is now all worst... its like 70% of the frets are buzzing....

really dunno wat to do and wats wrong with it.... cant really afford tat much to always sent back to kelvin for repair...

hope some people will advice me on this... like past experience... or maybe some small ways to get it back.... which i can do it myself....

chances are that if its so bad, dont worsen it yourself. i know nuts about neck warping and stuff, but if you dont know anything about it, dont do it.

ever considered going to malcom or something? :D

What guage strings are you using?

Is your room very humid or warm?

How do you store your guitar?

I suspect its a combination of a few things.

The wood has not dried enough before it was cut, you may have to periodically adjust the truss rod, its not difficult.

Just don't go crazy and turn the nut till ur guitar neck becomes warpped in the other direction.

bro.. u've got a "rubber" neck!

thats something tricky to fix and i would recomend u to send to maestro.. since GC is already considered costly, not to mention malcom..

Whats your neck specs btw?

i guess what kind of wood material and stuff

wood?
scurf joint (whatever u spell it)
made out of how many pcs?
set or bolt neck?
what excalty the model of the guitar your using it anyway? sometimes after adjusting the truss road, the neck might need to set in might take a night or so?

The million dollar question is, does it buzz when you plug it in? Many necks have some truss rod rattle which will not be heard through the amp. Do a simple test, hold down the strings at the neck to body joint and rap your knuckles against the back of the neck. If you hear a rattling/buzz, that's the truss rod.

model is RGT42DX

neck specs :

5pc Wizard II Maple/Walnut neck-thru

Scale 648mm/25.5"
a : Width at Nut 43mm
b : Width at Last Fret 56mm
c: Thickness at 1st 19mm
d : Thickness at 12th 21mm
Radius 400mmR

pssss.....kelvin from GC. ha! trust that guy! crap! SERIOUSLY DUDE! go to malcom, yes its expensive, but that guy does my fender strat once, and he damn does it damn bloody well. Well done setup to perfection, with evenly placed frets and no fret buzz or string cut off when bending at higher frets. Not that i would want to bad mouth kelvin or anything, i do think he's more of a shrewd business man than a guitar tech.

AND, there's very very very little chance of neck warp, when its warp it means it is twisted and that rarely happens. Maybe your neck is bowed (bent forward) or bent backwards.

Hmm .... interesting ....through(plus 5 pc Laminate)necks are suppose to be very stable & least likely to warp as compare to bolt-ons & set necks .I don't think there should be any "Rubber neck" issues..

Hideto...u got it new or 2nd hand ?

jus curious..

no man, i'm not gonna delete my post. I believe when i registered as a user in soft, it is meant to help others by warning them or giving them advice on my past experiences. I'm not gonna bootlick or kiss people's ass with my "try to be nice" speech. I've had my fair share of shitty experience with guitar setup and i do not wish to see fellow musicians get conned of their money.

Yes I also am in favour of free speech and have the "one man's poison is another.." idealogy if you have another favourite lutheir. Neither am I a top supporter of GC

...but ....

from the above mentioned statement - it does seem harsh & and has defamatory nuances...

my 2 cents anyway...

hehe, and in term of in the shoe of Malcolm, i dont think he wouldnt want this sorta "advertisement" done in this way i guess...

just imho, its not wrong to bring someone down when having experience something bad, but definitely not a right time to boost up another person credit within the same time.

its like having a signal going into tremolo then to a delay in series!

truth prevails.

however a private business we have no right to advocate how it should be run.

therefore we have choice whether we want whoever to fix it.

just my 0.05cents
