sweetheart, it's not taxes. That's called interest. And yes, darling, you'd have to pay interest because you are borrowing their money. You have a bank account, honey? They pay you interest too, you know cuz they are using your money for their own investments as well.
Sweetie, taxes is what you'd have to pay when you earn money from your venture. Company tax, income tax, and be sure to remember to contribute to your employees' monthly CPF too! All 13%!!! Very important for us to buy HDB flats.
But since you want to have this idea without borrowing from banks? Why not ask your parents for a loan? St. James Powerstation was in the excess of S$40 million? But from what you have described of your vision, it wouldn't cost that much. Probably around 4 - 5 million for the infrastructure. Unless you have to refurnish the warehouse and build different levels, you might need to throw in another couple of million bucks. But can be done.

Actually, sometimes I think if I strike lottery like those CNY Big Sweep ($10 million and I'm the only winner), I'd put aside $6 million for portfolio investment and spend $3 million on car and house (hurhurhur) and $1 million to help the scene. Buy airtime, manage some bands, do regional tours. etc. Treating it as a charity expenditure.
Cuz local music cannot sell.

1 million can do wonders man... local music just got no enough publicity, that's what i think. can use this to promote local music... and this is where this hub thingy came in. Wanna try out fund raising or something so we can do this? Like everyone $2 lol. alot of people = alot of $$$$$$. Something like that.
