from the american price listing, the SUB1 guitars should not exceed SGD$1,200. suspiciously cheap you'd say but that's the whole 'SUB' philosophy- quality for less $$$. it's similar to what Fender offers in its Highway1 series 8)
yeap i was considering the shilouette special too ... for its H/S/S config. tried one at swee lee long time back..its not bad ....
the Luke is basically the same model without a pickguard and upgraded electronics. if im not wrong the neck profile is different as well.
that fact that its a signature model would also cause the price to be higher... but its been around for ages so i hope its a design that has been tried and tested.

I had the heel crack finish issue..my JPM7 string came in from US with a cracked heel finish..had a damn serious issue with EBMM during that time..had to ship the damn guitar back to the US and got another guitar instead. I don't think they have seriously solved that issue as yet on the JPMs. But I don't see that problem with other models. Had the Steve Morse with no problems at all. Its just the damn JPMs...seriously overpriced guitar for that matter..
Adam has a Luke..he's really digging it...very versatile pop/rock guitar..
yah.. my gd friend nop's jpm 7 also crack sial..damn heart pain.. i think the warranty covered it and he got it back gd as new.
the only luke i ever tried was Adam's luke.. solid man ... tried thru his pod pro/ XT pro.. not sure.. thru his bose speakers... if its gd enuf for adam. its good enuf for me man ... now i just need to getmy hands on one to confirm i love it. muahahha...

Hey Chan Min, i think it isn't juz a very good investment, but also... a very good price.
dun think we can get an even close price if sweelee is selling... i juz saw a Luke in taiwan, retailing at a much more higher price.
