Monsterpiece Angry Dick 2000 Demo

Ah... Here goes.

This clip is basically a little showcase of just what 1 pedal can do. I think the AD2000 is a cool pedal with the ability to yield a variety of dirty tones just via the volume control.

It goes from cleanish grit to overdrive to distortion to saturated fuzzy-ness.

The clip starts with ... guitar vol @ 8. For some time. Then the cleanish grit tone, which is vol around 2. Then maxed out fuzzy-love-ness.

There is a section where I repeat the cleanish grit with real clean tones mixed with chorus/analog filter/delay - after that, the AD2000 is set to max gain.

I don't think the AD2000 should be approached as a od/dist pedal even though it is capable of doing such tones - its a fuzz thru and thru - so those who approach it should come with the right mindset. It feels different, it sounds different, it sustains different.

And, at what, 180 bucks? Quality build and a good degree of customisation available - why not?

 try doin the same wankage on my fuzzz ...

sounds like those cheap transistor amp dei !!

nice overdubs shred ..

i thought some parts of the track was very nice! im serious!
Those out of tune parts werent to my taste though...

but the Fuzz/Od tone did have a very signature/unique lo-fi sound to it.
But honestly i cant see any other uses for it other then for commercials..
e.g Extreme Sports advertisements, Gatorade ...etc

Ya, the whole vibe is actually "lo fi" in nature and when the volume (gtr) is max-ed out, I can't say that its a spectacular tone, more like slightly starved...

However, I think the main thing about fuzz is really how it makes notes interact with one another... its that harmonic sizzle/interplay/disonnance thing that fuzz emphasizes - I think that's key to a fuzz's character.

Therefore, I can't wait to try the AD2000 on a tube amp - it has a LOT of volume on tap and the way it sounds with gtr vol down makes me think it could very well work magic with a tube amp.

haha nice stuff shred. the middle part was very avant-garde....reminded me of Buckethead.

btw what is h f e ? :???:

duuuh goose..... spank your backsite!

BETA:
One parameter tells you the amount of D.C. gain that the transistor will give you. It is generally called beta or hfe. If the transistor's beta is 150 and the transistor has 2 amps of current flowing through the collector and emitter, the current flowing through the base will be 2/150 or .013 amps of current.

yup it sounded chewy. open it up and see if there are 2 diodes side by side.
