Militant escape- Security in S'pore?

Hell yeah...

Firstly I find it so ridiculous that a big fish like Mas Scofield can escape just like that.

Through some opening in the walls of a toilet.

In a high security detention centre.

In Singapore.

A first world country.

With a S$7 billion surplus.

Not dissing lah, but I must admit I am scratching my head.

And I feel that sometimes, if you can't laugh or let loose a bit - you can't get through anything in life.

Yes, Mas Selamat IS a threat to national security and a dangerous man.

But what can WE do here in the forums? We all know what he looks like and for sure I know I am going to give the information to the police if I see him.

I don't find the picture of the cop in the car sleeping disgusting cos I know it was not really meant to get him into trouble for literally sleeping on the job but hey, we all sure can use a laugh or two sometimes.

Oh man, can he like bomb my school or something? Just bomb it. It's as good as the MOE HQ. And as long as I'm not inside.

LOL.

even the british prisons have its fair share of break-outs and escapees, and they've got the most organised and thorough prison systems in the world.

there are some pertinent issues about that photo which makes it a no laughing matter. in order for SOFT not to get into legal complications, that photo is best left at source...

QUICK GET CAUGHT please.

and don't bomb my school.
all those years of annoying fund raisings and donations.
:|

you know, I think he has got a quite common face. I don't know, it just... seems common to me.
So it's gonna take a lil more effort to recognise him.

ha. a social studies teacher was telling my friend's class what to do when you see a suspicious person, or Mas Selamat. do this, do that, "and don't ask the police if you'll get CIP points for reporting."

the relevant minister was grilled in parliament today as to why his ministry made public the situation only after 4 hours of consideration. according to him, the situation is NOT grave enough to warrant an immediate alert.

so the escape of a militant detainee, a limping spastic or otherwise, isn't too dangerous to national security. it doesn't matter if he ever plotted to blow up places, right?

for all we know, that limp is a fake front (unless the relevant parties disclose why he limps). so now while every breathing security officer scout for a limping fool, he's really just walking away...

wtf?! situation not grave enough to warrant immediate notification and alert. my goodness. absolute genius that son of a gun.

that minister's Wong Kan Seng, yes?

If you ask me, he looks kinda evil cunning, limping spastic or not.

Usually the eyes have it.

It doesn't take only pure guts to break out, but extreme intelligence too.

But for the sake of the safety of Singaporeans all round, he better get caught and put away for a looooooooooooooong time.

The world already has enough of tragedies and sadness.

We just have to remind ourselves to rally together and fight as one.

If we turn against each other, the terrorists would have won.

It's as easy as that.

i dont understand one thing, someone as menacing and unstable as him should be locked up in a maximum security prison.

if you are a minister, you are accounting for the situation, it's a professional responsibility but a more credible rationale can be given rather than it being not serious enough.

we are not going against you just questioning the credibility of this account- not serious enough..., really? then what is?

not intending this to be a joke, but i think they think that an escapee isn't major but an escapee with a bomb is major. who knows what this guy is up to now? hell, he could already be planning his next attack or even building a bomb for that matter. i'm sure his underlings are somewhere in singapore, reuniting with their leader
