Metalzone Reanimation Mod

...a can of bees hitting a metal tin.

He has decided to retire the pedal though since he has acquired a mxr doubleshot distortion....which sounds more natural and feels better for solos than any metalzone, modded or stock imo.

Erm... before reading your full post, I remember trying the doubleshot before, and remembering what it sounded like to me: bees in a can. hahahaha...

Maybe it works for some, maybe not. For me, the Keeley MT2 is perfect for metal rhythm, but for lead, I like to colour the tone with a MI Audio TZOD. Not heard the reanimation mod, but would like to. Any soundclips?

did you use it with the supplied adapter? i noticed most shops who let kids try pedals always just let them run 18v pedals at 9v.....great service aye.

I dont like that pedal either.....but the point was my guitarist managed to tweak it well to blend in with my setup (im using a seventheaven). We are both using identical peavey 2x12 amps.

Before that i remembered he was using an mt-2 with the seekz reanimation mod, it was really cool too....much improved clarity and dynamics from stock.

good point. i totally forgot abt that. yup that could be the reason why i didnt like it.

just jammed with the reanimation mod mt2 using the line 6 big amp at
the jamming studio just now...
wicked!!!
i like it...! definitely ballsier..!
thanx sound alchemy!

Yep... 18v... hated it... My TZOD pwnd it big time... But again, that is subjective hor...

yeah subjective man....i loved the sound of the tubezone but my band was like, eh, your distortion too smooth, bass too flabby not gritty enough for the genre of music...so off it went.

The TZ to me is more of a bedroom pedal or booster....used as a primary drive source in a band it gets lost in the mix. From my point of view.

U guys seen the ad above from Sound Alchemy? I went to their site and saw this Reanimation mod for the MT2 (Metalzone). Has anyone modded thier MT2s? Care to share the experience? Like, the pros and cons? Help appreciated. Thanks.

Velvetrevolver: Why not just head down to Sound Alchemy to check out the modded pedal once they have one in stock? No amount of reviews will trump your own set of ears in determining YOUR specific tastes :)

Just hop on 66 from Jurong to Coronation :)

Thanks for all the inputs guys! Ized, Dudelove, Whitestrat, Tubescreamer, Foxxylady. May have missed out some but doesnt mean not included in my thanks list ya! :D

Hey man, i wanna get Boss MT2 MOD, but given that i have 2 choices now, one is buying from Keeley and the other is sound alchemy?

any differences from this two places? other than to pay for the shipping fees for keeley? i do not have a stock one, is it possible to purchase a full modded MT-2 pedal from them?
how much is it? anybody, thanks in advance.

I'll reccomend you get a MT-2 and bring to us for the mod.
The MT-2 is very easily available, be it new or used. I'm
not a dealer of Boss effects, and I probably won't want to
assume anything and head out to buy one pedal to mod
with the intention to sell it, since I'm not sure if you want
it new or used. So bottom line, still best that I just perform
the mod.
