Listen..Digital or Analog?

Can u tell whether a guitar player is using a digital multifx or analog pedals just by listening to his recordings?

Honestly, I cant. Those who can, i tink u r special.

The problem with the SOUND of digital tends to be due to the inexperience of the user. If you don't know how to tweak then it WILL sound digital. If you know what you are doing then perhaps you can fake a blindfolded dude with golden ears.

So what then?

Just play what rocks your boat... and since the choice presents itself before me, I choose analog because its just better to me. Can I make music with digital? Sure. With analog? Sure. But which rocks my boat more? Analog.

anarog? Go use reel to reel tape to record anarog guitar and anarog pedals :lol:

I am pretty sure most of them can feel the different if you were to compare side by side. Or you are using it everyday..

I dont hear the different years ago when i was using those Japan made (eg sony, panasonic equipment )hifi .

I switch to high end digital processor for my hifi after some years.

Until recently when i have have up a little bit, i went all out to get those Boutique hifi.. then i know, there is hell a lot of different, every parts including the cable use, positioning counts.

Imagine if my wife can be season within a week and hear the different.. how about the rest

So what do you think when u are using digital record and pass through those amp ?

The different i find is still very minor... unless you are super picky.

Even after all what i have said , i still find that be it analog or digital, it is still ok. Even i also star to stick to digital these day as it is easier to use without fuss..

My wife also complaining that to use the equipment is a chore..

So you decide.

the real difference shines in live perfomances but...good recordings will definitely show the difference....

I use analog pedals most of the time is because...

When I want to tweak a knob, I bend down and turn the knob. I don't scroll through pages of LCD readouts, bank up and down before being able to press the small button to adjust the setting by +5, then forget to press the 'save' button and have to do it all over again.

This is probably a real timesaver when you're trying to tweak things while you're on stage with a sweaty singer sticking a mic in your face.

heh, even if everything is anarog, the recording of it definitely make it sound digitalised.. imho. Kinda flat sounding
