Oh so Shredcow was joking...haha...I've never seen him joke before...this is the first, lol...

prob because you didnt get his jokes all the other times as well

Eh Dan, just to clarify, I meant actual reviews into the Database. Since people are complaining that there aren't enough reviews.

Cheers,

Coincidentally, I was searching for wooden (specifically rosewood) pickup rings as well and I found an ebay seller who's selling a pair for 15 USD.

Here's a picture......

The drawback is the shipping, which is flat rate 15USD for USPS Airmail Parcel Post. Any softies wanna combine orders and share shipping? Oh and the rings are flat so they don't fit archtop guitars, some carved top guitars relatively flat in the pickup region should be fine though, the guy installed a pair on a PRS.

Phil, sure. ;) But for your hellion, you WILL have to loan me your guitar for the day. :) Btw, Stan just sent me a prototype DropZone7, yes, for 7 string.

Mero, I think the other ebay seller who sells the rings for 30USD, his rings do look much better than the above. What do you think?

Shredcow : yeah, the ones sold by Guilford sure look better if you compare the pics..... I read on project guitar that he used to be a luthier working for Ibanez lol

But I suppose the rings might differ on a case-by-case basis since the wood grain is rarely the same. In case anyone else is interested, his website is at http://www.robsguitarworks.com/

It's pretty messy though, the specific URL for his wooden parts and the range of woods he has is at http://www.robsguitarworks.com/PAGE17.html

Oh, and he also makes other wooden parts, like jack plates, pup covers, knobs and truss rod covers. He says he does custom work as well, as long as you give him the measurements. :D

That sounds great~! Custom wood work? You got a natural finish SZ aye mero? It would look killer. :) You can do tuner peg, wooden ones.

Yep I'm gonna redo all the cosmetics to make it a truly wooden finish

I was thinking of getting a rosewood truss rod cover (the finish on my SZ is pretty dark, more akin to the shade of rosewood than unfinished mahogany), as well as tuning pegs. But too bad my headstock is black so the look wouldn't be congruent........ So I scrapped the idea for the truss rod and I'm sourcing for some amber tuning pegs instead...... Though I may find a carpenter and see if I can get a wooden truss rod cover cut, I think it'll be a lot cheaper than evilbay :D

Of course. Everyone knows that using D'Raddario RotoBall Extra Nanoweb Slinky Boomers plastic strings instantaneously gives you the playing ability of Yngwie Malmsteen, Rusty Cooley and John Petrucci combined.
