Lets say if i wanna get his sound...

i meant the 2 dudes that you mentioned. Bumblefoot and mattias. I listen to them also. Afterall i still play guitar

hehe, local musicians, i dont listen to unique or special player. I go for the whole sound of the band, the locale thing is more important to me than the uniquness of individual playing.

as for noise, laptop musicians etc, they are in their own world and circle. People who listen to it, dig really deep into it. I also scared to even start any topic on music with them..make myself malu only

music is like paintings. the tried and tested stuff is like those regular paintings u see at exhibitions with history and all that.

drawing a parallel to the music world with art, would be like modern art , which also are surfacing and becoming more appreciated.

we have the tools. a guitar is like a paintbrush. the legends painted the classics, and we're gona paint something different.

Ah.... okay... i didn't know you were referring to yourself. :P Not many guitarists I know are into them... find them noisy. Ah well.

I dunno... those more unique players, spearhead their bands and lead the band onto a whole new level... like, well, since they are used, mattias and bumblefoot. I don't see how their bands would survive without them...
Or even bands like Van Halen (during their time), Dave Matthews Band (not the playing, the singing, back then), Queen (quite a bunch!), etc etc... all had their key players, and while yeah, they work as a band, without those key people, the band ceases to be, just morphs into something else. Not the rule of thumb definately but... well... just something...

So that genre, its really called "noise"? (note, for ease of identification purposes only ah)

them noisy, then what is the world coming too! Infidels!

Iam not refering to myself entirely. Just using it as example. There are people whom i have came across, listen to them and much more that i have no ideas of, thus in me getting the impression that there are people locally who does know of and much more.

noise is too wide to classify or define. But if you wanna listen, just check out merzbow or masonna on youtube. Pretty entertaining and confirmed is noise

Cannot cannot... this one really i cannot... i'm understand that I'm being very traditional in this aspect, but yeah, i cannot seem to get into it. Maybe in time to come lah.

Hahaha... I sort of just shot myself in the foot. So much for speaking about "creavity". Bah humbug.

John Frusciante - i liked this, from question 3.

What’s your philosophy regarding perfection vs. imperfection when recording?

There’s a fine line between good imperfections and bad imperfections. You might have played on the wrong fret, or played an open string you didn’t mean to play, and if you’re a really self-critical person, you might immediately want to fix that. But, it’s important to listen to those things a second time, and get other people’s opinions. For example, during the solo on “She’s Only 18,” I was on the wrong fret for a second, but I just kept the flow going, and the solo was awesome. Once you stop fighting with mistakes, you actually roll with them, wait for them, and welcome them. They’re one of those things that the spirit of music likes. If there are no mistakes, a record has no vibe.

Eh... let's not start.

But I've a fren who bro PatheinRaindropMoe bro also knows. He's into guitar players who play like keyboardists. I've no idea what he's talking about.

see, smoking is bad and playing guitar wanting to sound like keyboard is even worst.

I think its either quit playing or living, but definitely not smoking...

why play the guitar like a keyboard when you can actually play a keyboard.

hint: an old band from the 90's who like to look at their shoes and finally decided they should play country.

Wrong!!!

Slowdive -> Mojave3!

Its all about the kapok guitars, sideburns and plaid flannel shirts.
