Korn guitarist finds God, leaves band; Blink 182 splits

1. its not really about shredding.
Cos james hetfield can't shred, but he palmmutes too! like a punk and chugs his metal to monstrous rhythm battery not found anywhere else.

2. I'm not a metallica fan! Sompa! but i appreciate good music.

3. yes! I'm a guns and fucking roses fan, but when did i ever psycho you to listen to them, I only said 10 years ago their concerts also more massive then the ones blink have now. and Metallica started out with a mega Underground fanbase to begin with. Its the real music that brought them where they are now.

4. The reason i posted is because someone very myopic started saying that its so sad no one listens to mettalica or gnrs anymore. its so unfair blink's concert is so great now that metallica or gnr can't hold a candle to them anymore. Which i totally cannot believe that someone will just post it like that without thinking.

5. yes you are 16 and you dont know the world, so go check out the dictionary and check out this word. MYOPIC.

6. and plz dont take it like i'm forcing the 2 bands down your throat, cos theres no point.

But the funny thing is. you know it yourself!

ok..look at it this way. metallica is and always will have a larger and more extensive fan base compared to blink... one thing being they have been around much much longer.. and two being they really kick ass.

personally i wouldnt pay for a blink concert. but i would shell out big bucks for a premium spot at a metallica gig. Blink182 is a product. A very well marketed one i must say. metallica is METALLICA cannot compare man.

wad i mean by "no one gives a damn" is the younger generation dun appreciate their music.it is the older generation who have tasted the days of glory of metallica and guns n roses and that i understand.i know a lot of young people listen to old school rock music either because they have frens and relatives who got them influenced or they were self influenced but old school rock prevailed in the 1980s and that makes 30+ year old adults as their fans.

wad i'm sayin is that the trend of today's music have changed.people would rather go for catchy lyrics than "catchy techniques".
the reason why i would say punk rock bands are gaining popularity now is that they write songs about daily problems happening in life for example "my girlfren left me , i hate u , i hate u." or "my parents are always abusing me , wad should i do?" u know dat kinda stuffs which young people of today experience in their lifetime.i guess , that's wad makes blink and other punk rock bands so popular wif the young generation

okay i gotta admit the palm muting part was a bit way too extreme but nonetheless i wanted to highlight my point.u can say that it was a generalisation.come to think of it...james does palm mute but i would again like to say that the rock bands of yesterday gained popularity thru sheer sweat and determination while the rock bands of today gained popularity more of their mass appealing lyrics....

so i hope that kinda explains part of ur point...anything else u would like to clearify please let me know.....
we all have our faults and mistakes but i seriously hope u can at least tone down and try to reason things out...no point getting enraged over something i said which may directly or indirectly offend u...
 
i feel sad seeing ppl worship blink 182 so madly...

and since when james shred. He is great not only becomes he can tap out the riff while waving to his fans and singing at the same time(lol!) but bcos he is one great man. He always say thank you to the fans and say heappreciates them for coming to watch him. and He wrote the song sad but true bcos he's trying to tell us that altho we see him as someone beyond us, he's just like anyone of us. he is truly one deep guy and i respect him alot.

blink is like so......bubblegum compared to metallica...just see the lyrics can tell already...

James is a great rhythm player, but it's not shocking that people hate Metallica. Not only have they sold out numerous times, Lars even still so disrespectful to the rest of the metal community. I like Metallica, but their reign is over. I mean St Anger, just look at it. :(

some people just like catchy music and not so rock music, so they go for blink and pop punk bands.

some people like very musical stuffs and they go for metallica, gnr whereby every note they played are been worked out slowly and nicely.

hey seekz. u said hetfield plays chug like punk. but lemme let u noe tt metal style came out with tt style long b4 punk started weeing in its pants. and yes metallica has a huge fan base. much larger than blink. by miles. punk to me is a copied style of chugging but with hell less chord progressions.
