Joe Satriani Sues Coldplay..

I guess much of you have heard about the thing going on between Joe Satriani and Coldplay and finally action has been taken against them.

What do you guys think about this? I think Coldplay did plagarized and its unbecoming of them since both of them are notable stars in the biz and yet this kind of thing still goes on..

Both of them are REALLY shortsighted. What they should do is put out a remix combining both songs which will subsequently make it to the top of the charts and make both richer than they already are. Instead, they're gonna waste money in the courts. Lol.

Might have just been coincidental leh, sometimes musically, given a chord progression, people tend to think of the same particular lick/melody, not necessarily copied imo.

errrr, in my honest opinion, Joe Satriani isn't that rich as Coldplay that's why is sueing. And the chord progression is too typical. I think my guitarist made that progression once. Its too simple.

But both tracks combining sound quite cool

He's doing it probably cos he is pissed. Listening to the tracks it's way too similiar already. Let CoLDPlay die.....good album or not. Imagine the song get nominated for a Grammy and win. Plenty of complications there...

One of my favorite Satch song. Imho, being not rich is not the reason that Satch is suing. Who will want their work to be copied?
