Inflation is lost on so many...

Pedal-itis

Ok maybe it's all pented up frustration, but I just need to say something and make someone clear. I know that certain models of guitars were sold for certain prices maybe 2 years back. Sellers like me or hub and others were able to sell guitars cheaply to fellow forumers. But it's more expensive to bring these pieces in now. It may not be as cheap as we used to, in fact many still are, but i price them as lowly as possible as I always have! I have ppl on almost a daily basis bombing my handphone telling me "when you're ready to sell at what you used to, or at hub4thailand prices or old pedalitis prices, then tell me" ... I sell my stuff as cheaply as possible. Cause ive always done it for the fellow musicians in Singapore. Those who are close to me would know. If the costs to bring these guitars/basses/amps are higher then naturally if re sold its gotta be a little higher. Why continuously ask for prices of the yesteryear? Its so difficult to do something good for everyone with the poor mentality of a few bad eggs. Annoying..

Hey man I totally get what you're saying. Although I do feel that sometimes it's bad business strategy to be selling as cheaply as possible, you leave yourself no margin so you become more vulnerable to inflation and cost changes.

That's a big problem with the instrument/gear industry, it's always a tight-bargain, and many times people go overboard with the low-balling. It's one thing to ask for a better price, it's another to insult someone's already low pricing.

At the end of the day, hold on to your prices, the difference will make or break your business. It's no point doing charity for everyone, you're already doing great by offering products to begin with.

Cheer up man!

I guess it never was exactly a business .. It was a hobby it still is. I work in a bank for money .. I do this so musicians who were like me when I was 17-25, broke as shit can still afford great gear and inspire themselves.

These people are just buying for fun. To them trying their luck is no harm as there are no obligations. They think everyone is desperate at clearing their gear. Must be the casino's fault, making people more prone to trying their luck.

End of the day if your guitar is good, people will buy it for what it is at the price that it's supposed to be.

Hey bro, I'm sure that they're many more people that appreciate what you and hub are doing compared to those jackasses that lowball you. Respect the intentions and the effort you guys put in to this "business".

I know Its a small issue. Just built over especially the past few months . I'm even ok with lowballers, at least u know where they stand but I get comments like

'ill buy if you sell at what you used to'
'you think you increase ya price ppl will still buy?'
'if you can sell me at what hub used to, go check with him'

Everyday!! .. And doesn't even skim the surface . I'm sorry for the ranting but thanks for the support

Hey Marc,

Totally understand where you're coming from. Just gonna ask you to look past it and rmb poor ppl like me who utterly and wholeheartedly appreciate your willingness to let go of such sought after/hard to obtain gear at your prices (always).

Cheers bro, keep rocking.

Yeah, I understand.. Kena the "when you're ready to let sell it lower, contact me" line a couple of times before. I guess the thing is that you'll mostly be talking to those troublemakers while the happy customers are at home playing haha.

Getting crap like that everyday is kinda excessive tho, hope the person/ people responsible for it stop this nonsense..

marc, take it easy bro... this kinda sh1t happens when u r selling stuff.
Only those ppl who have not dealt with u previously will come up with these kinda lines...
Typical lah bro..

Skully that person is the "Boss" ;)

btw, can lowball your navigator at $1.5k?
hehehe
;)

For you I'll offer a low ball price la bro but $1500!!! Haha ... That one beyond man .. Don't like that la .. Pity me.
Thanks guys for all the support . Back to regular program then haha

haha, no offence, but aint we asking for it, for wanting to bring in stuff to play and yet wanting to sell it end of the day.

All the causes of the frustration, arise from the initial needs in us. When we can forsake the material needs, then we can prolly have less of that frustration.

Anyway, wheres da music har. Here so many guitar gear heros, but the amount of music around, is really sad...

On the same boat as you Marc, but fortunately I don't get bombarded by those messages on a regular basis. Maybe it's just that the stuff that I'm trying to offload are not as compelling as your awesome stuff. haha.

But one thing I notice is that since we are a relatively small community, some guys are looking not on the actual market value but on how much they think you are making off them even if you are selling at a loss specially if they know the instrument's ownership history. It really is annoying when you get sms messages like that.

I'm really surprised your Gibson white P90 guitar is still available with that bargain price of yours. I saw the pics before and it seems to be in great condition(mint?) and comes with a Gibson case. Where the hell are the guitar players here, man?!!

HERE HERE! But over worked and broke with barely time to play what little gear I have to begin with =(

And YES, I've been eyeing that guitar for the longest time. (part of me is thankful it's still ard, you know? just in case by some miracle I gather the funds lol)

I kid.

I find your current prices cheap and reasonable. These people should be thankful, cause shops are selling at ridiculous prices (judging from the fact that the US exchange rate has been shitty for a LONG time, prices should at least be adjusted).

You+hub still bring the best deals in the used market.

multiple deals with you and hub, zero issues along the way.

and as a 19 year old student i worked damn hard part time to get some of my gear, i put in like 50 more hours to get the amount i need so i didnt have to lowball lol!

Unfortunately I don't know you, what you're selling, or for how much.
Just wanted to say that it's a great thing to do as a hobby, keep it up.

Check out his ads on the buy/sell. You'll see his prices are at least decent and more often than not lower than shops and the 2nd hand market here.

I do agree that some shops should lower the prices of some things taking into account that their prices are quite abit higher than what we'll pay if we bring it in ourselves.

I guess we all know which shops should do that.
You're right.
