In hunt for a new piece.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new piece of guitar with the following specifications:

24 Jumbo Frets
H - S - H Combo
Maple Neck/Fretboard
Profile of neck somewhat like Wizard Neck or (Slim)
Floyd Rose
Good tuners (Preferably Gotoh)

My knowledge as of now only tells me Ibanez guitars, I'm not restricting myself to only that. Hoping to know other brands with similar specifications and they're of good quality.

(Did put my eye on a few Ibanez already, but hoping to see some other alternatives to consider and try before the final decision)

Many thanks in reading this, and appreciate your contributions-to-come :D

Rgds,
Newbie

DIY maybe?

If your budget is enough, i'd go DIY if you're not too inclined towards ibanez or their offerings at the moment.

Hi,

I'm not very good at building, never has been ha. I destroy, not build.

Or do you mean I buy parts and get someone to make it for me? Any trustable local shops that do that? Thanks

Put it together yourself... Malcolm does it well and honest to boot.

Warmoth does 24 frets.

Hey Daniel,

Thanks for sharing, what was Malcolm's website again?

The guitar looks very nice, mind PMìng me how much it was in total? Thanks bro.

nice guit shred.

newbie - u could try Warmoth or USACG. Apart from Malcolm, you could also try KC at Zen guitars to put the whole thing together for you.

think USD still quite favorable. the showcase pieces at warmoth are normally ready to ship in a week or 2 unless u need to finish it. cheers

malcolm's site is mtlutherie

Hey Newbie, it really depends on how much you are willing to spend on your guitar. If your budget permits, perhaps a Suhr Pro Series S6? Anyway, things like tuners can always be swapped out if you are unhappy with the Ibanez stocks.

Hi all,

Don't really have a very tight budget but what matters most is that I'm paying for what's worth and nothing more. Haha.

Are there any local dealers or people who brings in Warmoth parts? I understand Zen Guitars has parts for sale, not very sure of the brands and specifications but I'll check them out soon. Any other suggestions for local dealers who carries guitar parts? Many thanks again.

How about this: Ernie Ball® Music Man® Silhouette Guitar

24 medium jumbo frets, HSH, maple neck/fretboard, slim profile, good tuners (not gotoh, but better - Schaller!), Brass trem block, Quarter Sawn Neck. Many colour options available. The only thing is, it's not an FR.

If you want this, check with Ripper for good deals...

Hm that looks really sweet.

Well I'm really looking for a FR guitar, pity :(

Thanks for the suggestion though, checked out the specifications, really close, just that it doesn't have FR... Hm.

Why the fixation on FR? Hmmm... Oh wellz... I'm gonna go ahead and recommend Ibanez RG350DX. Great guitar to work with (my opinion). Or there is a second hand Jem Jr. for sale right now, check the sale area of this forum.

If the TS can afford better guitars... I'd suggest avoiding these. They have average FRs on them...
