Ibanez JEMs

I played a 7V again. That thing is so damn playable, haha.
I'm gonna test it against a 555 for playability, but I'm probably going to go with the 7V.

Quick question, should a store give me a Certificate of Authenticity? How can I trust it's not a fake JEM? The case said something about J. Crew or whatever, and the inside was red. I checked on the net and this case seems real enough. But no warranty or certs? What should I do?

The case says Team J. Craft, but you should not judge the authenticity of the guitar by the case. They could just buy the case you know. Also, the JEM7V does not come with a COA.

Ok, what about a warranty? There's a warranty card in there, but it's in Japanese (the shop bought the guitar in Japan and brought it over themselves to avoid import tax). So if something happens to it, what do I do?

And I can't really tell if it's real or not. It looks entirely real, but I wouldn't be an expert on it.

I wouldnt mind owning a JEM honestly  artistes endorsements and the likes aside...

I used to have a jem-jr but that was a real piece of shit. At least the current ones come with edge 3s. I wouldnt even consider a jr a real JEM.

To me, a JEM is a glorified RG2550. That's all. And the best bit? the 2550 comes with an Edge ZR trem. Ok, excuse the alder body vs the basswood body thing. (the JEMs are still alder ya?) So, I wouldn't spend so much on a JEM since there's somethign simiar I can get that sounds pretty much the same with the right pups.

Having said that, the JEM is nice.

haha well yeah....if im not wrong the RG was derived from the JEM in the first place :D

I don really belong to the RG or JEM camp though....always admired curvier and smoother sister in the line, the S-series better though.....

hmm i remember reading somewhere that Steve designed the JEM which preceded the whole RG line....that was what shot Ibanez into favour with shredders in the 80s.

get a JEM bro! its the best! ahahaha. but of course if u have the cash i would advice a J-Custom. cuz its also really good.

sorry for the poor command of english there mr darrell. what i meant was, if he would wanna choose a RG to the JEM. i rather he get the JEM. but if he has the cash, i would advice him to get the J-Custom ( cuz from wat i see j custom is actually a bit more ex than the jem.) , cuz of the versatility. but in my ambiguous opinion, i meant tht the j custom is jus as good as the JEM. but to me JEM is the best in terms of overall, looks, tone, playability. but thats jus me. cuz i own both.

and sorry for the confusion!!
