I WANT TO BUY A LANDGRAFF!!!!

thats the unofficial title, real title is " tribute to John cage if he was a shredder doing contempo pop music as a artsy composer trapped in between the clash of asian and western civilisation that result in silence shred aka mind in turmoil but peace in heart with respect to the cordination of left brain and right brain"

Pathein bro... fret now, i speak for myself now... which has always been the case...

Ang Mo Tua Kee forum = nice for intro-ing gear... great place to have discussions on gear... sound... great way to get some sound advice from a few good people...

but of course, got your standard hype your standard waste money your standard spend and spend and spend.

All in all... I think I am out of the hype thing... but one thing - this Landgraff thing... I don't know... I'm curious. So long now... hundreds of landgraffs sold... clones made.. but the original holds true to many.

Is it worth the extra $?

Will I sound better?

Play better?

Heck, I can play on a behringer if you ask me.

but this landgraff... gots me itching...

Seems like a lot of the techie people who know techie stuff dislike Landy for getting aways with "murder" so to speak... how the hell can he charge $400 for a pedal... and people buy it... 8O

Maybe I'll buy... maybe not... see how... but this landy guy sure ain't dodgy in his practices... unless he understands how the human mind works so well and is now brain-washing ediots like me into believing he got something.

I don't dislike langraff for charging the way he does. The same way chicken rice can be $2 or $10, it's all based on economics.

What I dislike are the reasons people say they like his pedals, and the way they speak to techies when we try to explain more about them.

They don't say "I buy his pedals because they sound great and I'm willing to pay for that"

They say "It's a boutique pedal and Langraff puts time and effort into selecting every single part and wiring everything so neatly."

I've even seen Analogman saying that the way Langraff wires his pedals cause them to fail pretty quickly, and when Analogman gets asked to repair them, it's usually for that same reason.

The LDO's circuit is exactly the same as a TS. With enough time tweaking the components, you'll be able to get the same sound.

The MOD's circuit is exactly the same as a RAT. Ditto.

Langraff took the time to find the component values and types that would make those classic pedals sound like his does now. I respect that.

What I don't respect is people who start shouting at you when you tell them that it's a tubescreamer variant.

sahaslalalala is based on a green pedal and please buy it to fund the builder's beer budget. he handpicks, handdrills and even nosepicks everything.

edder

Is that what the goop coating the components is? I think we may have found the source of the saharadesertpedal's mojo!

+1 to blueark....

No offence to anyone Christian...but the number of people who believe that Landgraffs pedals have 'divine' power is ridiculous....pedals are pedals...and will never sound as good as amps....but I'll still buy em.. cos Im not patient enuff to save up for a year to buy an amp....

that said...I thought the LDO sounded bad, the Mod sounded good but not 425 good...and the clean boost sounds exactly like what i want...and its 260 so im gonna try it out....

the best part about landgraff pedals is.....I can always sell it for a nice profit....

and i must admit...I love the paintjob......
