I Need serious help... BOOTTEEK AND PEDAL TALK

erm, since this thread is on pedal, i have quite a confusion regarding electro harmonix's bassballs.

http://www.kellyindustries.com/guitars/electro_harmonix_bassballs.html
- electro harmonix bassballs

http://www.kellyindustries.com/guitars/electro_harmonix_bb_env_follower.html
- electro harmonix envelope follower

from this website, you can see the 2 variation of bassballs. but on the electro harmonix website, the envelope follower is actually bassballs.

http://www.ehx.com/ehx2/Default.asp?q=f&f=/Catalog/19_Filters/04_Bassballs

so is the envelope follwer a reissue of bassballs but changed a name or is it another pedal by itself?

shed some light anyone?

envelope follower is just a term to describe the characteristic of the effect.

The black bassball is russian made while the other is US made. Both are authorised EH products. Similar to some other US/Russian made EH pedals, big muff, small stone etc.

Mostly the US made one are in circulation nowadays wheras the russian factory more on tubes and is facing crisis of closing down due to some issues with local mafia/gov thingy.

For more info, pm Edder or wait for him to see this. He is the local dealer for EH

thanks pathie... i can't further elaborate on what you've said but metalella_eh please check out this site for more info on the sound of an envelope filter.

http://www.ehx.com

Basic unit: Dr Q
Dirty and funky: Bassballs (which is essentially 2xDrQ with distortion)
Great all around use and in 9V: Mini Qtron
Advance: Qtron
Bells and whistles: Qtro+
Tube and insane madness: Tube Zipper.

Tell me, which other effects companies will produce 6 kinds of envelope filters? Madness.

I don't know man. it seems like he's focusing on fx, so something with a decent clean sound to bring out strength of his pedals. maybe a fx loop for more variation and utility. something like a 300-500 solid state, or a valbee would work better definitely.
