How many times have you bought the BOSS DS-1?

Sometimes, the little quirks in our stock pedals make them all the more appealing. Love them as a whole, although I'm not refuting the usefulness of modifications.

yeah man, DS-1, everyone's modding it in every ways.

blueark, you reading this? Possible to mod to squeeze the stock DS-1 to this form-factor?

Looks like a Ds-1 clone. Could be possible to squeeze the stock DS1 into that box but it would be a lot of work. Might be easier to just make a new one.

No fun either, why not put it in a slightly bigger box and I'll put in a 12AX7 too :D

It won't look as shitty as this old prototype haha 8O

blueark, i visited your "projects.htm" page, couldn't find any info on what you did to the DS-1. Goodness, it sure looks like a big mod. What can it do?

I feel tempted to post that vid... the ultimate DS1 tone, everything up. Gives you slash in a box! 8)

Just ask Ciel.

I took that one off, cos wasn't intending to do this mod again.

Lemme see...

i think easliy 90% of the guitarist that plays an electric guitar, tired or owned this before....

i bought it twice... of the same place.... haha

hahah!! got a ds-1 like, twice...once when i got it for writing my friends composition paper and helping him get tt a2 grade...lolz...didn't like it very much, traded it in for a smashbox...lolz...got a ds-1 again...arnd last year...recently modded it...damn weird...my friend was gonna do some regular mod...dunno which one...smth abt replacing some diodes with LED's...lolz...strangely enuf, he used almost dead LED's...the mod was supposed to increase gain and stuff lah...i ended up with a bloody sweet sounding overdrive...using it as a booster now...damn nice...roll of the volume knob on ure guitar and u get an almost clean sound, slightly brighter...max volume on the guitar, throw in a mt-2 stock after the ds-1 and the sound is insane!!...lolz....but the leds are dying already...i suppose i gotta replace it soon...getting less and less gain frm it...pretty soon i suppose it'll turn clean or smth...lolz...

Real nice to see players who still appreciate an old workhorse like the DS1. For me the DS1 has always been my main stay in my sound and i am glad that i have two that is beautifully modded by edders and beez and each of them has a character of its own which I really dig. Edders really did a great job on the DS1 all the way back in the WMUM days....waoh thats is like donkey years back lol.......

Woah bro.. You dug up an old thread and revived it! Got an MIJ DS-1.. Wanted to offload it, but its soooo good at classic rock rhythms! Suck at lead though.. Too thin at the settings I'm using..

I got an MIJ DS1. Silver screw. Momentary LED. Its friggin old. Probably one of the 1st few batches.

After not taking it out for like... a year?

I put it out on my board just to "re-live the tones" I vaguely recalled.

I put it back. It sounded like crap.

Never. I've never bought a DS-1. I never really grew to like it that much... Though I dig the MT-2 though...:p

But it had this tone I wanted... this sustain and thickness thingy... i mean, hell a big muff could do it, but they are just different...

So now I'm sold on my MIJ DS1, i think thats it for me. I can do the Satch & Vai tones straight out of it! *kidding*

Look at the difference in just 2 years! Hahaha..
