How did you drop your guitar?

hi everyone 8)

hope this sharing will prevent drop-related accidents in time to come...

i've not dropped any of my guitars per se, but there are a few in their hard cases which toppled over but due to internal padding & stuff, they survived unscathed...

of course, feel free to discuss preventive measures...

a trombone case fell from the top shelf, hitting it on the way down, toppling a slew of other cases on top of my guitar. Lucky it was in a hardcase... darn school store rooms :evil:

Hmm.

Leant my old acoustic against the table, it rotated sideways, clockwise and the headstck hit the floor first. Neck heel cracked along the wood joint.

ALWAYS USE A STAND TO STORE GUITAR!!!! :evil:

i was playing my guitar, lying down on my bed. i then fell asleep. the guitar was on my stomach. i tink i kinda like turned over and the guitar fell to the floor, pickup side first. amazingly, no damage to guitar

When i was in high-school, i was playing with my guitar like a rifle.. doing some fancy riffle drills like what they do in the army. A bad flip and the neck is gone...

mine was due to "female" influence.

1) leaned my old Yamaha acoustic against the wall. My sis kicked it... it toppled and hit the sharp brass corner of a wooden box... end result .... a guitar with two sound holes.

2) Wanted to polish and clean up my newly acquired Gibson lespaul. My girlfriend wanted to be Enthusiastic and offered to help. So as i removed the tail piece and bridge to let her polish the guitar body. i went to take a new pack of strings...and i heard her exclaiming...

"WAH SEE NOW THESE METAL THINGS SOooo SHINY" i turned around and saw my bridge height adjustment screws removed and my bridge and tail piece being rubbed around in the cloth. Needless to say.. my intonation was off by a mile and my string action was insane.

Malcom setup cost me $150. which she paid.

placed my electric on my friend's acoustic guitar stand. BAM... it chipped my warlock's headstock. placed it on an unstable guitar stand. BAM, blew off my guitar's nut.

i'm surprised my warlock still survives..

long, long time ago...I borrowed my uncle old original Hofner semi solid 335 style gitar...

put it in an old soft case (the type w/o padding)..

Gig bag strap broke while I was at the top of the stairs of an overhead bridge - guitar fell down the steps, bumped at mid poibnt then fell down some more until it hit the bottom .....

Neck broke in 3 place, body smashed...
