Guitar gig bags. Discuss!

Mono's big winner for me over many others is waterproofing. Of course the smart thing to do is to simply not step into even the slightest drizzle at all but my usual routes are long and unsheltered almost the entire way.

Last I checked the Blues Reunion cases were in the region of 250-300 and up, far more than Mono. They looked really good tho, was very tempted.

Tick looks great but won't retrofit existing Mono cases, only newly manufactured ones. :( Fits a hair larger than a PT nano, but I'd probably use it for accessories etc. which would free the front pocket for a laptop or board.

And yea a Mono is a fantastic battering ram. :p

I use the mono for the acoustic.
I bought a fusion too that was not too bad, but yeah a MONO isn't much more. The reunion blues are crazy expensive.
Ultimately I sold the fusion and got the Incase Gig bag. They're not made anymore but i think it's way more comfy than the mono. and it looks built to last a lifetime.

But i'd settle for mono if i hadn't had to carry my laptop around. Incase is the only gig bag i know that has sleeves inside for a MBP. Neeed something like that cos I go to rehearsals after work. Crazy to carry guitar, another back pack and pedalboard. I tried once with the Fusion.. it's insane.

I think Mono bags are more suitable for traveling overseas. For moving from point A to point B, just a well padded but lighter weight gig bag would be more appropriate. If the price is good, why not?

Definitely MONO. Got it for my electrics and bass. Except for my acoustic, which I'd still prefer to keep it in hardcase.

I'm all for MONO gigbags. Use them for all my guitars (yes including my LPs, its the only gigbag I'll use to carry and LP) except my JM strat because that came with its own custom incase bag that's pretty sweet as well.

You used to use a Spork too right?

Mono it is.

Hi guys, two of my friends using Fusion F1s, one bass, and one acoustic guitar, their bag has a tear somewhere already, and they are very disappointed. And it's not like they drag it around.

Been using my Fender SKB Hardcase for more than a year now inside trains, bus... even inside the compartment in an airplane! :p I know, it's a challenge especially in a very crowded bus and mind you that I'm also carrying a flight case pedalboard  but I manage very well. I just know that my guitar will be ultimately safe inside a hardcase rather than a cheap free softcase that can easily be teared and bumped into. though, with all the discussion about this MONO gigbag, I'm getting interested now and thinking of switching..............

just a little update.. Back from a trip using monocases. Checked a Les Paul and Cymbals in, in their respective monocases.

Everything is perfectly FINE. No neck breaks or anything whatsoever. The baggage handlers broke the luggage lock i put on the monocase for the guitar. It was a clean break off, but no damage to the bag or guitar whatsoever.
