HOT TOPIC: SHOULD U BE PAID!?

u still play guitar???
free beer just makes me work harder at polishing drum sticks for drumnoob

play halfway then cannot play already lah. guitar most probably either smashed or lying on top of your body after you collapse from being drunk. but seriously, a little beer helps. haha.

can i be ur roadie? i carry and polish drum sticks for u. make them shiny shiny, no horse run. just gimme beer will do, dont need peanuts

Bro thailoverboy bro, you gotch pak band one ar, bro? Steady lah, bro...

dont get paid=complain
paid too little=complain
paid too much=other pple complain
why dont everyone just go to the coffeeshop and order some beer and stop complaining

Hurhur...

I dunno lah. Bro thailoverboy bro, it's really business what. If you can bring in a spending crowd which can increase revenue in a club, you can charge what you want. If not, you either play for what they pay or you play for free loh...

Think it is vey subjective, does the gig justify for your band to do it for free or asked to be paid.

If gig can draw average of 300ppl+ the organiser is really serious (in sound etc.. ask for tech rider from the organiser)
think it does no harm if a band perform for free, the money can be cover back through merchandise sales and even if it is not a immediate returns, it can be a long term investment... building fan base.
just make sure you know what u need to prepare for gig that you do for free.. flyers/ stickers etc to hand out or asked the organiser to let you sell your merchandise there. let ppl remember your band name.

maybe u can say that to drumnoob

Hurhur, for a dodgy gig organiser, we should really avoid this thread.

But bro Pathein bro asked "How to settle?"

Simple lah. When the dodgy gig organisers/ dodgy club management offers you the payment (package and T&Cs), you see if you like it. If you do, take it and play it. Make sure no one squeezes your balls and you get paid.

If it's a free gig, if you wanna do it, do it lah.

Okay, now all that is done.

250$ a night?seriously?got people pay before?so you must be good eh...

and your very first post...
'COME ON ALL U GUYS! don't spoil the music market. such an irritating act. if u tink u r nt gd enough to be paid, then don't bloodi create noise pollution!'

goodness gracious bro....i'm starting to guess that you're a skillful and powerful musician, can condemn other people for this kind of thing, but no good musician will do this condemning act...talking big bout whether they should getting paid or not...

[edited by SOFT]

and bro...if someday you give up music, blame it on yourself, for being such a busybody, caring bout the payment thing instead of improving your skills, even you post untill your finger swollen to the size of your head,i definitely sure that this 'paid or not paid' issue will still be around

good luck to you yeah, and hope you're getting paid for posting on soft
