Hey Soft-ies!

Sorry if the Tittle make you think differently. but i want to ask you guys something.

I'm thinking of changing my B.C. Rich M7 Warlock Pick-ups.

i ONLY play Metal on that guitar.

i would then want to change the pick-ups to a pick-up that is Mainly for Metal.

Can you tell me the "Heaviest Pick-up" that you know?

I'm thinking of the EMG 85 & 81 OR The Seymour Duncan Blackouts.

But Can You Guys Tell Me The Heaviest Pick-up That You Knw?

Also,
If I Get A Active Pick-up, Do I Need To Pay More For Them To Make The Slot For The 9V??

If So, About How Much More?

Plz Tell Me Yr Suggestions.

Thanks!

DIMARZIO X2N. these pickups are killer for metal bro... u wont have any regrets theyre even better than emgs

Even the Seymour Duncan '59 can sound heavy.... even single coils can be heavy.... The heaviest pickup should be one cranked with a 5150 or a high gain amp.. or high gain pedals...

how heavy a tone can a pickup manifest without distortion?

+1 to this....

its not just the pickups, but also your guitar + amp and technique required to achieve that crushing wall of gain you desire....

Yah man. I can get a super heavy sound from my Single coils. Focus more on your distortion pedals & EQ.

Some pickups have been known to distort a clean amp. The X2N, Invader, and the Kent Armstrong Motherbucker is plenty hot enough to kill almost any clean amp with the volume knob on the guitar on full.

this effect is minimal. high output pickups add to the signal gain, the reason why the cleans distort but just a little bit, it won't outdo a dirty channel/ pedal performance.

'heavy' is about distortion; pickups add definition to it.
