Guitars of the future...

Technology always changes here and there, and sometimes (or for some people) not for the better.

So yeah, what do you think will happen to guitars in the future?

- Will tremolos replace fixed bridges completely or vice versa,
- Will there be no more double-cutaways,
- etc.

What do you people think?

well you see... with this anyone can be a

1) Guitar hero
2) Guitar effect hero
3) Guitar amp hero
4) Guitar wood connoiseur
5) Guitar pickup expert
6) Guitar "fill in the blanks for anything related to the guitar"

Speakin of technology, I was thinking of a motorised FR that will auto balance during my IDEA (innovation, design and enterprise in action) module.. Too bad the Lecturers wont know how to appreciate it if i ever built one...

I don't think much will change in future. Regardless of their age and music genre, guitarists are a CONSERVATIVE bunch! After 60 years of guitar history, guitars in the market are still more of less the same...tele, strat, les pauls, 335s, etc and their variance. And guitarists are still craving and paying top dollars for vintage reissues and technologies of yesteryears.

I think though there'll be a few novelty designs for the guitar once in a while, the main guitar will remain. Good instruments rarely change over the years. Just look at brass/woodwind/keys. Most have barely changed over so many centuries.
