Guitarists, your PICKs?...

I totally love the XL Jazz III. suits me and my gauge the most, using 13 gauge drop-half tuning. really unleashes the punch for blues and jazz runs

Faithful user of the yellow tortex triangle, until I lost all of them and the Yamaha at Tampines Mall didn't seem to have them anymore so I had to get something else. I'm on triangle Stubbys now too.

xspace you can get Stubbys at the Swee Lee Bras Basah branch.

Anyone knows where I can get the yellow tortex triangle? Miss them. Great all round pick. Great grip and just the right weight.

Where to get the stubby? I tried subversion's one (that day), and I think it's really comfortable...

bro- i have some to spare (i bought one plastic bag: 100 pieces i think...), PM me if you wanna try. you should have told me you like it that day, i brought extra.

PS: i file the tip of my Stubby picks to give that extra, precision 'sharpness'.

What are the differences between thick and thin strings. Are the thinner strings faster?
is .85 too thin?

im currently using the Jazz III XL series, black ones. Used to use the dunlop Derlin 1.5mm picks. Now i can't seem to choose between picks, im forever finding better ones and can never stick to one. Stubby's are good too.

anybody here using awe-in-one profound picks?? i find it is easier to speed pick using this pick but when it comes to string skipping, it's harder than normal picks..

my friend uses them. the surface area of his index and thumb is rather small. so he had no problem with them. in fact, he ONLY uses them.

well, for me, i use an ESP medium pick bought from davis. works like a charm. can't execute pinch with other picks. guess i'm too used to this pick.

i'm using it now. don't find a problem with string skipping.

i find that there's an added sparkle when i use the transparent profound pick (i think it's made of acrylic) on a strat. For other guitars like Ibanez the guitar pots are 500k and sound pretty open already, and I can't hear much discernable difference on them.

+1 for the Dunlop Jazz IIIs (both the XXL and the smaller version, depending what i'm playing)

I use Ernie ball or D'Addario Strings. 10-46. Picks either Dunlop Jazz III 1.0mm or Planet Waves 1.1mm.

Sures man... Actually I was like, damn, I just lost one of my JD pick... Searched high and low, and miraculously it was at my finger tip (exactly at the fingers where I hold the pick) when I woke up on bed... What a miracle.. Lol... 8)

Thick strings wobble less, less side to side vibrating movements than thin strings.

No thinner strings are not necessarily faster. You can be very fast on thick strings too, it's all the matter of how you pick and the angle at which you attack the strings.

.85 isn't too thin if it suits the style you're playing. But typically thicker strings yield a richer fuller tone.
