If only all guitar shops had testing rooms. Actually it is a good investment for the shop, purchases would certainly soar.

You still have that poser mind of yours. so you only want to try the guitars when you have enough skill? So does it mean that only at that time, you will be able to test the guitars and show that you can play "some Blues solos and stuff"? Playing guitar isn't about your skills(some people may feel that this is just an encouragement to all those who can't play well), but is how you immerse yourself into guitar playing and to put your soul into your fingers and to express yourself. This is just my opinion.

Well i guess everyone. Not saying you can or cannot do that well but fauxhawk you should really make up your mind, you are wasting precious practice time.

MutantBanana: Blackwood at Bras Basah has testing rooms, but if I'm not wrong they're mainly for testing pedals. Neither do they have LTDs though.

You can always try playing some open chords instead, and judge the tone from there. You don't have to play blues solos or anything like that. You can also roll off the volume knob, and try shredding, so at least no one can hear you and you won't feel self-conscious, yet you'll also get an idea if the neck, body, etc suit you.

When I test, I play some open chords, bar chords, basic scales and that's it. I'm not out to impress or show off. I just wanna see how the guitar feels in my hand.

If you are too embarrassed or shy bring a friend who can play with you. He would be able to advice you on what is good or not good, advantages and disadvantages of each guitar. But at one point of time you still need to sit down and hold it to see: Is it too heavy or light? Is the neck grip comfortable? Are you struggling with basically holding it? Do you like how it sounds?

These are questions that noone can answer for you.

If you do NOT want to do all these things, settle with what you have and practice your scales, till you can pull off a lick without sweat or embarrassment. This method will take as much time as you are patient.

In the end, if you want to play Blink 182 on your guitar, why should you bother with blues licks? Just play Blink 182 la.

HAHAX!!! Teleplayer!!! I played guitar for 3 month and now i own a schecter hellraiser avenger... My first guitar was a J&D floyd rose guitar... =) jealous right... XD

well I'm actually practicing while looking at SOFT. Lol. Nowadays I practice for more than 2 hours. Still not enough though..

LOL of course not. I don't wear band t-shirts.. Cos it normally comes from... PENIN. I hate that place but not the guitar shops...

2 hours only ah? xiang dang nian i practiced 6 hours a day for 5 years.
