where the hell is my AC30!!! need to tio beh pio

Do yourself a favor and check out ValveTech Amps

AC30 flavored at half the cost. Better build and reliability as well.

There's a couple of dudes with Valve Tech amps here. I know of one and there should an incoming model soon as well.

Have played thru a vintage Twin Reverb and a couple of re-issues. There's no competition. The Gries blows the Twin Reverb outta the water in terms of clean headroom :D The Gries sounds fuller and richer as well :)

If the Twin Reverb floated my boat, I wouldn't have to spend more $$$ on the Gries 35 :)

*grumble* *grumble* time to off-load my twin then..

this reminds me of a tube amp project that i was supposed to do... damn had the parts for the past 4 years!!!!

Better late than never Shred :D

You on for the USA Custom Guitar :D Start saving :P

Hahaha... Yeah.

Floyd rose, 22 frets, H-H. Wolfpack, maple neck/fretboard. Something like that. Undecided on the body wood.

Or maybe I should just strip my Saber's finish.

For Indigo_blues:

If you want a better sound from the twin you can try the following

1. Remove preamp tubes 1 and 5 (looking from the rear and the right) if you want to use the reverb channel and this will disengage the vibrato and the non reverb channel while increasing the gain of the preamp.

2. Replace the power tubes with 'Winged C', formerly Svetlana, tubes. These are the closest to the original RCA power tubes.

3. Try the amp with different speakers. These were the big let down on twins as both blackface and silverface units were often poor.

4, Rebias the power tubes and recap if neccessary.

Hope it helps.

The weather's wonderful. The temperature in Dongara is about four degrees higher than Perth as we are north and the temp increases as you move north. Rained heavily yesterday, but there are clear blue skies today.

Indigo_blue's welcome for the advice. Most important is to make the most of your equipment and tasilor it to your needs. Gear here is so expensive that you can't buy and sell like Singapore. A mate who is back in Singapore now has a Pro reverb with clestions in it and it sounds great. Think of a Fender with a bit of a Marshall growl and you've got it.

Off to take the boy to Kindy so have a goodd one.

cheers,

Mark.
