The one good piece of advice I can give you is to be yourself and try to get to know her better on a purely platonic basis first. Trying to be somebody you're not or trying to be "cool" in order to woo a girl never works out, purely because the relationship is not founded on truth. If she doesn't like you for who you are as a person, even if you manage to jio her by being someone else, sooner or later the relationship will not work out. And trust me when I say that a relationship that ends up there is 23678765432 times more painful than a relationship that never takes off.
Just my 2 cents, hope it helps you.

befriend her but dont be her BFF (best friend forever). I agree you have to get close to a girl first before you woo her. But also you can't be just a friend forever and wait for something to happen. So to sum it all: Be a friend, but make yr intentions clear but not obvious from the start. I hope my somewhat contradicting advice helps haha

Sometimes, a girl just needs a real man.
Just make sure when you look at the mirror, you look like a real man lah.
If you look pasty and scrawny with emo floppy hair and you've only got hair only on your armpits and head and your nether regions, then need to think of other strategies lah.
