give up normal music

i had my 1st dose of instrumental music when i hit 15 in sec 3. before that i was into pop from p1 through to p6 (its an embarrassment to admit it!!) then went onto techno or whatever they call it nowadays from sec 1 to sec 3 beginning.

after that my friend played his ipod in class and i got a dose of rock music and from there my love for rock began. rock fever increased its temp when i hit poly year 3 where my close friend introduced me to dragonforce, from then on it was metal all the way. while he still likes heavy metal, i've found my sub-genre of metal that i like. after listening to metal for about 6 months, i started picking up the guitar, and thats where i am now.

I started playing the violin when i was 6. Completed grade 8 when i turned 15.

After that i really got tired of classical music and i must admit that punk rock was my thing to sort of ' spice ' up my then boring music life

Till i owned an electric guitar, i realised magic could be performed on the thing.

After listening to too much pop/punk rock etc, i came to a conclusion that 80% of the bands sound like each other.

The first obsession came when i heard Metallica's Master of Puppets.. Used to hardcore metal till a friend introduced me to classic rock bands like Deep Purple , Whitesnake , GnR etc.. and im still going strong for that genre. Though less metal nowadays.

As for rap, ive nvr really enjoyed it due to personal reasons i wont state here in case i need to take cover under the sea
