The gains in one review i read can go head to head with Bogner n Diezel, in terms of quality (Smoothness n all). May lose out to the diezel in terms of quantity gain (only a little), BUT the cleans on the V3 is much better than the other 2. N its cheaper han them more than 3X.
From i ask ranking the last time, the price they sell is more or less the website price times 2... They may give some discount tho, she said.
This has 3 channels, n 3 seperate EQ for all 3 channels!!! Plus alot more features. I just dont know whether to get the head or combo...
If u int, we can order together n maybe it will be cheaper. But wait for our beloved GUV to give us $$$ in may haha.

in terms of having 3 ch and 3 seperate EQ, i think the Peavey XXX head is a close competitor (not to suggest the Peavey might actually sound better than the Carvin), for abt 1.3k USD - and comes with footswitch unlike the Carvin.

it's usually a bit more due to the extra weight/volumetric weight.well, thats not my estimates. Thats came from the lady's mouth at ranking sports from making some call after i enquire with her. I did double if not triple check n confirm with her, and she said yup just X2, give n take shouldnt be too far from it.

If u calculate based on X2 of the web price, and if u include USD200(A usual shipping quote i always get from Ebayers for amp heads) to web price X the normal conversion. The result is very very close, a dif of abt S$5...

actually, thor, i think 2x is a fair estimate, see:
Peavey XXX Combo recommended retail price = USD 1099
Peavey XXX Combo at sweelee = SGD 2147 (web price, before discount?)
well there's your comparison then:
V3 combo (List price) = 5000 SGD
V3 combo (direct) = 2400 SGD
XXX combo = 2147 SGD
but dude, was the ranking sports lady talking abt the List Price or the Direct price on the website? big freakin difference man

Furthermore, ranking sells their legacy at list price S$1800(Not nett i believe), which means they take the direct price on the web as a base price to X2. If they take list price on web, then ranking shld be selling in the range of S$3k+.
So If we talking abt the head, its abt $1800+, combo is abt $2400+. Half stack will be $2700+. COnsidering u paying abt another 900 for a celestion fitted 4X12, thats a pretty deal yeah

Yea it is within 2X range. but usually 2.?X, as opposed to guitars, which tend to be slightly < 2X.
Remember to factor in the cost of the 240V transformer.

Yeah unfortunately... Ranking does have more competitive pricing. I agree its slightly above X2 for their list price. But sales price may be neg, like how swee li does it.

Whatever it is, good luck with your interest in the amps. While I'm not a fan of high wattage amps to use at home, it is good to see that more people becoming discerning about the more important aspect of guitar sound - the signal reproduction equipment.Am looking at a relatively unknown amp for now. Price is stiff for me though. Keeping my cards closed. :wink:

judging by initial feedback, the SE Singlecut isn't similar tone-wise to the Tremonti. IMO, it's a good move.
